Nice Concept, Poorly Executed
As some have said before, the idea is nice, retro vs. next gen, yet a lot of frustration came about. Namely, the horrible unit AI.
Ground units do not stop to engage enemy units, rather their priority is to keep moving to the designated point, this is seen in the C&C series, but at least in those games, you can tell your units to halt mid-way to engage, in this game, they refuse to do so. Also, why would ground units refuse to engage unless told to do so? The enemy is within sight, and it is firing on the unit, would it not be rational to have the unit approach enemy and engage?
Air units docked in base refuse to defend themselves. This is just plain silly. Why would "manned" air vehicles refuse to engage when they are attacked? Free moving air units suffer the problem of ground units, if a enemy is engaging, should it not engage and retaliate?
Farmer units refuse to run when attacked. Again, why would any sane person in that given situation refuse to run?
That is my only real gripe about this game, for a flash game there must have been a lot of hard work and coding put into it, but not enough unit AI. Tweak that and you can have a real winner on your hands.
