Reviews for "This Time Tomorrow"

I'm returning the favor

Since you reviewed my "Fly Higher," I shall now review all of your songs. Prepare. . . .

This song was cool. The synths throughout the song were excellently simple, yet complex. The joining synths that play the up and down notes were good.

I don't normally listen to or review this type of song, so there's not really any suggestions I can give...sorry :(

Keep making music, man.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Cheers for another review man, its much appreciated and cool of you to give some feedback. I'm pleased you liked the synths. It's always hard to make suggestions to other peoples work man so I'll let you off just this once ;)

James

Tight

Those drums that filter their way in are water tight man. I notice if you can pick the right shaker/hats to slot in between the kick and snare it makes it, and u picked it here.
The instruments supported the drums nicely, very atmospheric, as with most of your work but the drums got my attention. Nice work

Jimbobsthebest responds:

As stupid as this sounds, I find the drums and bass in drum and bass the hardest to write. This is why I decided to try out a more ambient track to put the focus on the melodies as opposed to the drum and bass parts. I wasn't that impressed with my drum line personally as I felt it was a bit weaker than it should have been, although you obviously thought it worked pretty well. So thanks for the review, it's always nice to hear what someone with fresh ears has to say,

Wewt!

Definitely one of your best. There were contrasing movements and parts, good effects, all kinds of good things. Most especially the fact that you were able to keep this more of a background song without losing any musicality. My favorite part was was the use of piano and bells to build to the end, having them back out for the drums, then dropped the drums to close the song nice and tight.

HOWEVER be careful not to stick to specific patterns to much in one song. You limited yourself pretty well, but that's something to watch for.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Cheers for the review and advice man. I'm still very amateur when it comes to making music so all the advice I recieve I take very seriously.

Thanks again, James

Reminds me of Zelda music.

Right off the bat it reminds me of some music from the zelda 64 game. The drums are cool... but seem a bit quiet in the higher frequencies. When all of the samples get going its a pretty piece. Though the piano might come in a bit too late. It seemed like a big change to make so far into the song... it also sounds very moby.

This isnt bad... though a bit unorganized on the grand scale. Fading out with only the piano seemed a bit out of place as well.

Not bad work... its a nice piece of music. Keep these coming.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Thanks for spending the time to listen to this. I can't say this reminds me of Zelda music, but i'll take it as a compliment ;)

Cheers, James
