Reviews for "Red Cross ERU"

Cool

Its always great to help people out. Yet I rather help people in real life than in a game. This gets into the review. I love the graphic and the sounds. The gameplay was very easy in fact all you praticaly need to do is click and drag. The idea of the game is good as well. Like many people said the game gets repettitive. This brings me to what i said in the beginning. This game is about helping people and when you help someone you want to continue helping (plus you get the warn and fuzzy feeling inside :D). This game makes you want to help then stop and never play again. All in all I liked the game although there are the minor flaws such as the repettitiveness, easyness, and laggyness (for me at least). Fix these things and i bet this would be a hit game

Nice Graphics

Guess there are no people of color working for the Red Cross?

Youdagames responds:

Yes there are absolutely but you have probably seen just 2 of the games characters. :)

Good game, gets kinda repettitive though.

And for all you haters out there, when you get caught in a natural disaster or something devastating, I sure hope that the Red Cross doesnt help you out.

You dont deserve it.

Over all a good game, good graphics, good music.

Not a really a game.

This wasn't really much of an actual game. Every level consisted of just sending your people to locations with the click of a button and they did the rest. However, I do have a few pros and cons to list, so here we go.

Pros:
**********
+ Stunning graphics for a flash game.

+ Good music and sound effects.

+ Very in-depth information about what the Red Cross does, and how it works.

Cons:
**********
- An almost automatic game, there is really no skill required or choices for the player to make.

- Seemed very repetitive, sending units to disaster sites was about all that happened.

- On vehicles I could see a box around the car where the sprite was taken and put into the game.

- Some of the menus had no way to exit out of.

Final Scoring:

Great idea!

The graphics were top notch, the presentation excellent, even the music was decent. I just couldnt see much of a game in it.
I tried the two first levels, but the game needs more controls similar to a RTS game in order to be a real game.
The Red Cross does an insanly important job, and informing people of their deeds cant be underestimated. This is a great way of informing people.
In order to make a better game I would do a simple change:
Continue to divide things by days, but have more clear divides.
before each day: Allow the player to review the current tasks and then assign the resources he thinks are necessary to fulfill the tasks. As the day unfolds he can reassign people, but the main outcome will be based on his planning the day before.
Giving the relief workers names and experience could also add a nice touch.
Like in any good RTS game, allow the workers to receive experience. This means that a task will go quicker (or not fail) depending on the experience of the worker you send. The more tasks, the more experience. Thus you can send young inexperienced workers with the more experienced ones in order for them to gain experience. Wow, what an experience! ;-)
