Reviews for "Gemworks"

okay

It's a mind game..very complicated
I was surprised when I earn money to build an empire of my own
graphics were good, the music is a misfit...
its an Egyptian BGM in a game to build a city

Fun, but too repetitive.

It was fun for 3-4 levels but gameplay didn't change enough for me to continue wanting to play.

Original enough to keep me going.

Nice game, original, addicting, and colorful. I like the powerups and the "build a city" things.

here it comes...

BUT, I'd prefer if the different colored gems were slightly different shapes, because I'm color weak and had trouble telling the difference between green/yellow and blue/purple gems. The reds were okay and I could easily distinguish "imperfect" gems from their dull hues.

Flawed

Too crowded and not enough hammers in the later levels with the flawed gems. Game is kinda boring, but I guess it's OK...

Awesome Game with some flaws

This game got really addicting in a heartbeat. There was a steep learning curve to it and I got a bit frustrated with combining the really large gems because I kept making gems pop up in places where they were not next to each other or because they were half and half. Some of you who played this might understand what I'm talking about. This game ended up being addictive where I just played it till 3 in the morning. Job well done. However, the flaws that really stuck out was that you had to break the large gems at times in order to make way for the colored gems that you needed to finish the game or that there would be too few of the colored gems and you'd have to keep clearing up the board just to get new gems (and in the process use your time bonus to keep going). Also there were times when there were no power ups on the board and at the time I was in real need of a hammers because of those stone like gems that couldn't be used to create large ones kept getting in the way and I ended up losing time. I know that you will take this constructive criticism in a good way and you will make a Gemworks two with new power ups and extremely dynamic gameplay. Keep up the good work. I'm going to go and play some more :-D.
