Reviews for "BreakBeat"

Pretty good

but it has definite glitches. For a demo its pretty fun, but i could only get to the second level because when i died the ball would fire in a random direction and id perpetually lose lives. that happened twice. also sometimes the paddle absorbs the ball and fires it downward, and on top of that the "walls" don't do anything.
other than that good concept and it was an interesting twist to put a music question in between levels, but there should be some way to tell if you get it right or not. i liked it, but it was rather glitchy.

5/10

It's like space invaders pong. =D

Not that bad, and I'm not lowering my rating because it isn't the full version, I'm lowering it for other reasons, which I will explain:

Ball respawning: The respawn system is ridiculous. I missed on purpose and then by accident, and both times the ball respawned far from my paddle, heading straight down, and was already close to the bottom when it spawned.

More Fun: I'd say you need to add something like powerups or such. The game idea is fine, but it needs more spice, so to speak.

Not bad..

It was a pretty fun game. Rather addicting. But there are A LOT of bugs and things you may want to change.
For one, the paddle should be able to effect the path of the ball a bit more rather than just bounce it in a simple path. Otherwise the game would just be the same outcome almost every time.

Also the ball frequiently gets stuck on the paddle, glitching out and then just flying of to the bottom.

You should also make the ball respawn on the paddle. This is because in multiple cases, the ball jsut respawns randomly and flies toward the bottom not giving the player any chances to save it.

As for the questions. Instead of making them make you lose, you should use them for extra points only, like a bonus round.

The audio is good though and so is the artwork. I look forward to the full version, providing that these bugs have been fixed.

Sorry, but...

Look, for a demo, this is reasonable, but it's still clunky. Your animation is good, but the game is too easy. On the off chance you do miss the ball, you probably won't have your paddle close enough to where the ball spawns to catch it. If it spawned in one place, this wouldn't be a problem, but it goes to basically the opposite side every time. MIss the spawn, and you'll probably miss the next one too, trying to get to the first. Finally... if you're going to make a question system, instead of giving someone a game over if they get it wrong, thereby making all other progress inconsequential, try taking away just one life. Not everyone likes breakout AND knows their boy bands.
