Reviews for "Neo v Smith"

wow

This is the direction fighting games for consoles should take.

LeviFolds responds:

Yeah, screw 3-D, bring back the 2-D platform!!!

How could You?

Well done. Good animation, sound sync-ed well and all. Like others have said, you over did the jumping real high a tad.

But my thing is, How could you forget the 360 running pole kick? That was prehaps the best thing about that scene.

LeviFolds responds:

Haha. That is a sweet scene, but with the way I chopped the sound down (so as not to make a 9 minute long sprite movie) the sound effects from that part of the scene were lost. Sorry, lame excuse, but its true. I did want to do that scene but I was also limited to the sprites I had.

repeat..reapeat...

sorry i would love to give you higher then a three but i've seen like doezens of matrix remix of this fight scene sprites/animated/(drawn)/mario/e.t.c.

you had a button 1 star
you had good sound (riped from the movie) 2 stars
total = 3 stars.

sorry normally i give unoriginal work no star unless it was more creative and broke out of the "remake of the same scene". but keep up the good work with animating it was pretty nice.

LeviFolds responds:

So, because of other things that you have scene, you gave me a lower score? Would you like to offer some constructive criticism please, instead of rating my work on the basis that its based off of a movie that many other people happen to have also based their work on? how about the particular use of sprites, the movements, the camera work, the effects, the sound syncing, the green tone, etc etc etc...poor review my friend, I'm disappointed.

Yeah

Finally some awesome sprite battle on portal...
Great job on recreation of the battle, deepth and intense just enough to be awesome.
The green faces kinda bugged me but i quess it had some logical answer to be so.
Keep up the good work

LeviFolds responds:

Yeah, the green goes along with the tone of Reloaded, how the whole movie has a sort of green hue to it. Of course, its way overdone for the sprite rendition. Glad you didn't let that get in the way of a good review.

surprisingly good.

I quickly became enamored with the little touches you had put in this animation that really set it apart from the often 'static' feel of sprite movies- the motion blur, sense of fields of depth, and especially the lighting effect of the sun over the buildings immediately swept me in.

However, as I continued watching, I became bored with the fact the the "camera" never really felt like it moved, only panned and tilted and zoomed to follow the action. I was about to write this off as being not quite what I had hope it would be, when scene 9 came and blew away my doubts. Good job!

I would only suggest you try to not overuse your effects, such as going back to the sun effect so many times (it cheapened the "wow" I experienced the first time), and possibly try a broader range of color, but in the end I'd have to say it was simply fantastic :)

LeviFolds responds:

I do tend to drag things out until just before you would say 'screw it' then add the magic touch, haha. Fantastic is fine by me!
