Reviews for "Get a Life"

a better dating game

I have to say, this is a one of the better dating games, would be better if there was more interaction w/ the girls, and if there was a save function.

Decent

Good game. Very realistic when it comes to girls randomly getting mad at you and making them happy again. The main negative is it is impossible to win. I found True Love and nothing happened. Eventually I found True Love with all the girls. Still Nothing happened. You should probably fix that bug. Good Job

Johnnybdesign responds:

yeah... you need to find true love with the right girl (which is the snobby, most-difficult-to-get girl). I forgot her name.

Thanks to all the reviewer. I will build upon the engine one day and considerably improve the game.

Nice, but bland

The hunger and entertainment meter was cool. I also liked the choice of education and work which is usually not in sim games. However, it was kinda bland. You should add dates and random events or something..

Johnnybdesign responds:

Noted. Thanks for the comment.

hey

its good, make a more advanced one, ohh and i got to true love and nothing happened

Pretty Good!

Kinda mechanical, but amusing. Is Vanessa always your soulmate? Here I am, Goth-Emo Boy trying to be a Rock Star, but my soulmate is some chick in a pink blouse, and not Alice?

There's two bugs on the Phone-a-Friend Menu. Jane and Mary's pictures are mixed up and you can keep phoning well into the negative APs. In fact, once you reach negative APs, you never need to sleep.

Whenever a girl is angry with me, they stay angry, even after they fall in love.

While Goth-Emo Boy was studying to be a rock star, some chicks would gain hearts even though he hadn't met them in the game yet. Is that supposed to happen?

This is not really a Dating Sim, since you never go out on a date. Not a lot of romance in mechanically given gifts, Emails, and phone calls.

I speak for half of NG when I say, "We wanna see some cartoon skin!"

Does the male character version operate the same way? You can simplify that part by getting rid of gifts but the booze and figure out how to rub the guy's leg. :)

Johnnybdesign responds:

oh! That's a nice and thorough review. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

Yeah... Vanessa is the de facto soulmate. I thought of various options: random, fixed or complementary soulmate. I chose the fixed options for simplicity reasons because of the complex engine underlying the game.

Oh! I didn't know about the mixed up picture. I used the "phone bug" during testing for obvious reasons and forgot to fix it.

Actually, when a girl is angry, you should be able to fix it provided that you can spoil her with enough gifts (like in real life, huh?) ... Practically, though the amount of gifts required might be too much in some case and there is no way to know that because you don't see the different scores/values.

Yup, a stranger can gain hearts if you increase your reputation and boost some relevant areas of interest. That's normal isn't? I know cuz it happened to me all the time during high school.... All the chicks would totally fall in love with me because of my great body and the fact that I am a real stud. They would call me at any time of days/nights, drop love notes in my locker.... and then I would wake up and it was all a dream.

hehhehehe I gotta you. More skin next time.

ohhhh that's a knowledgeable comment. I may have over-complex-ified the male version of the game. ahahahha that's a great comment actually. It should be:
1- order pizza to go
2- drink booze
3- go out at the pub
