Reviews for "StormWinds 1.5"

Gee...

Really the game's good...
But I even hated the fact that it's only a demo!
If you want to sell Flash games go on
www.freeworldgroup.com
There are only demos. You'll feel good there...

I understand you. You're used to playing free games on sites like newgrounds, and you want it to keep this way.

I also agree... and disagree. I'm never going to make a game and make it entirely pay to play, ever. I enjoy being able to play all the free flash games out there just as much as you do- that's why StormWinds has the whole main game available all the way to the final boss. But as I said I disagree too, games cost a lot of time (and money) to make. StormWinds 1.5 took a total of 6 months working full time with no other job to produce, it's over 17,000 lines (380 pages) of code! And I want to make even better games than this in the future!

Not that I can't get money other ways such as through sponsorship. But two big issues come up. The first is, why make a huge long game like stormwinds when I could make a quick small game such as starshine and get the same amount of money. The second is this: what better games could I be making if I had a better budget? I think we'd both agree there is a big difference between low budget and high budget movies, it works the same way with games. You've seen what is possible on low budgets, what could we make with bigger ones?

In the end, the extra content is just that, extra content. If you don't want to pay to play this game, you don't have to! The game is complete, all the way to the final boss in the city campaign. Don't pretend like it's just a demo or crippleware, I've loaded the game with far more content than 99.99999999% of the other games on here. For those of you who'd like to get more content, beta test Bubble Tanks 2 when that comes out, or just support Hero Interactive and help us to provide you with bigger, awesomer games in the future, that's now available to you.

Aiming?

Gameplay was a little wierd, firing the guns was more hard then it should, the graphics where great though.

i loved the game...

but hated the fact that it's only a demo, you are the only person on newgrounds charging for a game.

props to the amazing game, but a big boo to the selling of it.

sorry

Everything > Demo

You fail for the demo-ness.
WTF is with those gigantic cannon things with the truckload of HP that deal a truckload of damage with their gigantic cannon shells that attack in waves but somehow manage to not count as a boss? Tone those down a lot and the easiest difficulty of this might become remotely fair.

Meh.

I don't really like games that are just demos. I was going to give just a 1, but considering all the hard work to make this demo and also the nice graphics in this demo, I'll give it a 2. I noticed the upgrades made it a somewhat better demo. Hopefully, the next game you make will be free, just like every other game on newgrounds.
