Reviews for "Man of Sorrow (MMD-MS Collab)"

wtf

i wasnt really listening before but what the fuck happened to the end? did you finish it? wtf

hmm

there were alotta parts where the hits weren't together...

anyways it was pretty good.
kinda repetitive after a while.
also the brass were playing like a Fp or something. it was annoying.
piano was cool
againt the hits were so off on a lot of the parts
liked the heavy part at 1:53
also it sounded like the tempo got a little wierd in the heavy section. piano mostly the 16 note pickups were rushed maybe 8 notes n then the next part wouldnt be together on the hit.

good job

couldve been a lot better

and im sorry to say this
but i wasnt 100% satisfied

(good)
it was nice in the beginning, all the melodic lines were nicely created. i love the piano sound, its great! u did the piano justice lol which a lot of people dont. and i was like o shit! when the drums came in cuz i was actually thinking about making a song thats not 100% classical and with a hint of something cool. nice job on the creativity with that. and Dan, u can really play on tempo very well, for the beginning part that is... the part in 2:47 was really nice in the brass. i loved that, kinda like... wuts his face....
uhhhhh

(bad)
the voices were just incredibly annoying im sorry. and the brass was wierd. too... attacky. and the ending was... not there lol
it just faded which i CANT stand lol
when it sayd all together now... i was gonna be like, o this has to be cool, and for a sec it sounded pretty strong but then got weaker,
and then the drums came in screwing up the whole tempo. the little boom thing, the drumkit, was all off tempo, and i understand ur actually playing it but, still lol

i hope it didnt seem as though there were more bad things than good things, cuz thats definetly NOT how i feel lol
its still a pretty amazing song
better than almost all people here on NG when it comes to being melodic as opposed to being rhythmical. great job
and im not saying whos part i liked better...
thats just mean :-)

Great Job on a song well done.

WinterWind

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Oooo... Winterwind... leave it to you to say exactly what I was thinking. It's all my fault really... I kinda floundered the ending with the drums and the bla and the bla. Truth is I was so excited about this work at first that I didn't notice the off tempo drums and collapse of the end. Since then I kinda hoped, like me, others wouldn't notice either. But nothing gets past you does it :). The "Lil Boom Thing" was actually bang on... it was the drums that made it sound... off. Sooooooo... guess wuh... not I'm gunna hafta redo this... thanks alot haha. Remove the voices and fix the end and it's perfect right?... right :).

Thanks for the in debt review Winterwind... perhaps you'd like to get involved in a Collab with me and Maestro next time?

Real good job!

Congrats on an awesome collab! So many good things have already been said, so I'm just gonna say I like the voice, and drumming with piano keys is damn hard, but you pulled it off nicely. Beautiful stuff.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

It was more fun than you think. :). Glad you liked the voice... its a matter of choice... but I'm thinking the general consensus is that it could have been done without. And since yes... I can't drum worth beans... it was hard haha. Comforting review. Thanks

Ooooooooo good stuff

As the revier beneath me said, it would have been better i think if one of the versions was more electric-techno style, so they weren't so simular. You 2 work well with each other thats for damn sure. I like the voices, but at the same time i don't. I think the voices sort of take away from the piece's potential . . . I can't explain it. Lookin forward to hearin ur guys next collab

MilkMan-Dan responds:

gasp the zero pushers found us Maestro!!!... in other news... I agree... perhaps it could have been better... but somethin like this... well not easy... expecially when done over the internet with two different styles and instrument handlings. You see... we are both Classical artists... so we couldn't help but be more... how shall we say... the same?... :P... of course it would be interesting to see what happens if both a classical and a techno artist collab... hmmm... thinks a lil.

Thanks for the review and incouragement :).
