Reviews for "Icescape"

Not my type, but good anyways.

I like the whole body temp thing, it works pretty well except for the one time where it was a sort of cut scene and I couldn't get to my inventory to save myself and the body temp continued to go down. Not bad of a game

Psionic3D responds:

Yeah the body temp is at 100 in the pda/explanations but it goes back to whatever it was before when you click continue, I must remove the temp bar so it doesnt confuse peeps!!

Does everything have to have a damn time limit?

In my opinion, time limits are the cheapest, most annoying ways to add challenge to gameplay, and should be used sparingly. I enjoy playing atmospheric, first person adventure games because I like to feel a part of the story, like I'm really there. I was so concerned about the amazingly short time limits on EVERYTHING, I couldn't enjoy myself at all. Annoyances aside, this is a neat little game. Too bad I couldn't enjoy it at my own pace.

quite good

it was ok i mean graphics were ok and theres a reward for beating the game 100%?
is there ooooooooo. XD lol :)

Psionic3D responds:

Non as such, I wanted to add a gallery but ran out of time/space!!

Continue option????????

The game is great but is the guy naked or what?? LOL I kept dying every fucking "level" at least if there were continues...
Thank you for the game. I didn't get the who ate the cake but I wont play it again anyway.

Psionic3D responds:

its a good idea to eat the mints or pies after you temp has gone down a bit, thus buying you more time, if you eat them straight away you waste the top-up of heat they provide...plus finding all the clothing helps to slow down the temp guage!!!

gwaahhh

Okay, first off, that game was pretty cool in concept and execution, but the timing was TOO tight. I know this is an old game and this has all probably been said before, but.... one more time :) an extra second on each 'round' of the safe cracking game would be perfect... likewise, 2 more second for the fuse game. You have no idea how many times my mouse was just moving over the last switch when I'd run out of time....

the 'freezing' mechanism was pretty nifty, but it did also hurry the player along a bit too much... a suggestion next time... rather then a slowly decreasing gage, change the visuals of the mechanic... rather then a, say 1 to 100 scale like is currently in the game, give the player 4 "hearts"-- or three 'hearts' and a bar. the bar would be a 1-25 display and when empty, the player would drop to two hearts and a bar. The mechanic of picking up the gloves or the hat, could add an additional heart to your over al meter... the end result would or should be the same, but the way the player perceives it changes.

I recently read how, in world of warcraft, they were at first going to make it so you only got 100% XP if you'd been sleeping in an inn recently, and when you went out and fought a lot, you'd get tired and only get 50% XP. But players didn't like that idea... so Blizzard changed it so that being rested gave you 150% XP, and being 'not rested' only gave you 100%. They also changed how much XP a creature gave you and how much XP you needed to level up so that the initial 50% is the exact same as the 100%. but this way, the players were happy. It was all about perception.

anyway, I'm rambling. Just a thought. :)

Keep up the good work!
