Reviews for "A Canvas And A Struggle"

huh

that guy is a nutcase!but nice show though=)

That's art?

I don't understand the global art community anymore. It's all about shock value and things that you can "get away with." That's not art. Art is expression through emotion, not taking a crap on a canvas or blowing your brains out for the art world. This isn't some Second Renaissance, this is just bullshit that people think will get them attention. Mind you, I'm not saying you aren't a good artist, I just think that your understanding of art is a little biased. It's all about controversy nowadays and it doesn't have to be. People over analyze EVERYTHING, especially in the art world. People look at a scene on a canvas and come up with the idea that the artist is dying inside or some other bullshit. Maybe Warhol just wanted to paint soup cans and he didn't have a deeper meaning. Ever think about it that way? I see this as not being art but just shock value, that's just my personal opinion. The animation was great but I just didn't agree with it.

untitled1234 responds:

See, the point of the animation is about what you just said. It's supposed to criticize, not glorify.

oh man...

scary...I actually expected him to do something like that O.O

oh, and nice referencing of that Manzoni piece XD I hear there are like 9 or 12 of those cans out there, haha.

great but strange..

i thought it was a strange twist to it at the ending, displaying the canvas and all.

Well....that was disturbing.

An artist who wanted to commit suicide and make a great piece of artwork all at the same time. Anyway, I guess this shows the difficulty of how hard it is for artists to create art.
