Reviews for "Principled Depravity"

not bad

nice movie, i like it. But the sound of the sport car is quite irritating

LogFish responds:

Thanks! Yea it's quite a loud SFX that one, and at 16kps it's really aggressive - sorry about that won't use it again! Thanks for reviewing.

Slick

Ya got a real nice style goin on with this, couple minor graphical issues (the guys hand went through the car door) but other than that very cool. I'm lookin forward to more of this series.

LogFish responds:

Thanks! I was expecting a smashing for this movie so I'm quite chuffed with an 8 :)

I did this one just for fun, didn't polish it at all really - was starting to lose the enjoyment in animating with attending to detail in my SC flashes so this was a bit of fun breakaway - when I carry it on I'll definately put more ass into the wee details!

Great Job Man...

I can see some of the aspects carried over from your Starcraft movies. Great 3d animation like always, and much more refined compared to your first few Star movies.

I was however, expecting a little more in the way of color. I realize that it might have been done in black and white to give a different feel to the movie, but after seeing the Starcraft series, this is definetly a switch.

Also, there are a few things you might want to look into. Your small running scene, where your main character is running into the car to chase after the "boss" is a little sketchy. It looks like only the lower part of his arms are moving, and there is not the full extent of movement compared to a normal human running.

Also, earlier in that scene, there is a clip, where the main character knocks the man with the Assault Rifle in the back of the head after he had reloaded. Then, about four seconds later, he reloads again, after not having expended any rounds.

There is also something strange about your character rolling, that makes him look fake. You may also want to look into better explosive techniques, and fire effects after explosions. Crackling affects for audio would be nice, and so would liquid effects and animation for when he is pouring gasoline over the detroyed truck.

Over all, Great story, and I am looking to see more work from yo!

LogFish responds:

Cheers -

Style-wise, this movie is intentionally very different from the StarCraft Zantaboan Saga - the attention to detail I'm having to do for that now can suck the fun out of it for me, I love to tell the story, sure - but I don't want to spend 5 hours drawing a computer monitor that's in 20 frames for example. Obviously that's what separates the chaff from the wheat so I have to do that, but this was simply a breakaway. I stylised everything so i could use direct Swift3D exports almost all the time, it was just a bit of fun and I'm really chuffed with the pretty overwhelming support! I'll probably do both these projects in tandem now, but this one'll never have similar graphics as the Zantaboan Saga because that was never the intention :)

I'll also run it past people before I put it on NG next time so people can point out those inconsistencies before publishing! heheh. Thanks for the big handy review!

nice

it was pretty good I've seen better tho

LogFish responds:

If you want to be constructive you could tell me what things to improve for you to find this 'awesome' heh - but thanks, glad you liked it!

Nice

Your overall style was serious good and to me the voices were ok, they weren't crappy or nothing and I had no problem understanding them.

Anyways keep up the good work, and I most definitely will be looking forward to more.

LogFish responds:

Thanks!
