Reviews for "Shame by the Slice"

Hey! Great CARTOON!!!!

This was a really good cartoon. I really liked Asthma. He's a funny character. I can't wait to see the completed version of the second episode. Let me know when you have an opening for a part in one of your cartoons! I would love to be in one of your fine works of art.

BaconMask responds:

Thanks a lot! Yes, I have heard far and wide of your voice acting prowess. I shall be contacting you.

Thanks again!

Very nice, but keep working!

This was an all-round good animation. Pleasing visuals, good voicework and a storyline that was constructed well enough to keep me watching. Good fun. I normally focus on the positive things when I review good work, but I have to say: You were too reliant on tweening!

It felt like the characters were swaying themselves and their limbs around so much for small movements at times, and I don't just mean the drunkard. I've seen this in many animations which strongly rely on tweens. I've gotten used to it, but with your obvious talents I felt you could've provided some of the more realistic motions the tweens often failed to produce for your characters.

Adding some frame-by-frame touches to your animation would really help to kick things up a notch. I also suggest you keep working with ActionScript to benefit the next installment. There needs to be some sort of scene selection feature. Optional subtitles wouldn't be a bad idea either. Oh, and perhaps a tweak on dimension with the scenery in some places.

Other than that, you have a very nice thing going here. Sorry to focus so much on the whole tweening thing, but I think it's important that you consider varying your techniques. I really think you can go the distance, that's all. It'll be interesting to see how the second episode turns out in any case.

BaconMask responds:

This is actually very helpful. I get what you're saying about the over-tweening, and I'm inclined to agree with you. In the past, I put a lot of emphasis on FBF, and it looked pretty good in spots. However, the problem that I was facing was that all of the fbf bits weren't so reusable. I would end up doing custom animations over the course of a 7-8 minute long cartoon, and it would drain me to the point that I would lose intrest in the project as it wore on. But, there's definate value in fbf. It's undeniably the most professional way to go. I really appreciate the honesty, it really helps.

Thanks for watching!

Near perfect...

Anyways this was great dude. The character expressions were so realistic...I can tell you made layers and layers of faacial muscles over other ones to make the talking looks really detailed. The voice acting was pretty good and the story/plot was driven and fun to watch. I really enjoyed it man and I hope you continue with it.

Few improvements: While the animation that was present was VERY GOOD, I think there should've been more FBF because this was really lead on by tweens and lip syncing which, although look good, can get too repetitive. Also, the lines were too cheesy sometimes and I felt kind of bored hearing jokes that were already done by someone else (the Looney Toones joke where they play words on each other).

Just improveon those things and you ill be fine. Good job.

BaconMask responds:

I get what you're saying. I'm planning on mixing in more fbf in the future to give it a little more variety. And I think I know what lines you are talking about. (rabbit season! duck season!)

Anyway, thanks a lot for the review!

WOW

ok that was really really good in every way!

one word to discribe it-SWEET

BaconMask responds:
