Reviews for "Artifission RPG chp0"

A great opener.

This almost seemed like a demo, like a game trailer seeing how short and limited it was. It needs a lot of things to become a great game though.

First muti characters would be a great idea. I do get the feeling that will be placed in the next chapter considering when you went to use "Shield" it said "protect you and your buddy". Items would be a useful thing as well. Like grenades or a taser gun *to stun, not kill* Menu would be a nice touch as well. That would help to manage your characters health, instead of running into a battle with 120hp and you gotta kill 2 rocket-men and they start the battle of by loading up there guns.

One thing that stuck out on me was, after battle it would say "You feel no improvement" No spoils. ever. And what was the bars about? "attack, ranged, shield?" They don't seem to reflect anything, but I have a hunch that you we're trying to show what moves you used in battle.

I don't know what you we're going for on plot though. It was far to short to understand. Check the cameras, take a pee then walk to a hall way to get your face ripped off? I don't see anything that shows background to the characters, why he's the body-guard to the ambassador and who is Simon? Why is he on the radio?

The graphics could use a touch up. They seemed under-quality with the "hero". During the boss fight however; very creative weapons for the boss. The laser tech was created perfectly to show the raw destructive power of it, but to make prove the battle isn't possible to win, that should have waste "the hero" in one move.

The music you had wasn't to awesome til the battle/boss fights. those made it a 10. I enjoyed the music very much.

It has a bright future with some major changes. it seems like alot, but it really only needs a plot and some true RPG stuff, like a menu, items and more characters.

Fickludd responds:

Multiple characters is supported and is coming in the next chapter, yepp.

Menu dito.

The bars represent your stats, ie what you're good at. Will be used more in the full game. By doing a lot of attacks you gain "attack" for example.

This is the prologue: it's not meant to be very explanative but rather raise a lot of questions that will be answered later and also a little backdrop.

Thanks for the constructive review!

Well done, but too short

If you continue with this game I see a lot of potential. You definitely have a good thing here. I look forward to life and magic upgrades, more weapons, and more skills.

As far as this submission is concerned it seems that I had a very different experience than some other people. I only got into 3 fights before I reached the main hall, probably because I went directly south south-west as much as I possibly could. I had lot of life going into the mechanical boss, and I was disappointed that I had no chance of winning. Overall the submission, as far as plot elements, is just too short. Anyway, it was fun and I look forward the the story's continuation. Keep up the good work.

By the way, it took me forever to find the right place to pee. I kept trying to go behind a building.

Thanks for the review!

I know it's a tad short, but that will fix itself with the real chapters.

it has potential

a few things i noticed that might have been useful were: a run button, more character info (like in a menu or after battles), and the things other people have mentioned. looks like it could have potential, though.

Fickludd responds:

run button? that's a first mention... hmm i'll think about it.

Glad you liked it!

Really good game but needs work.

The graphics were quite good, not the best i have seen but still pretty good.
i really liked the music especially the battle music (is it me or does it sound a bit like final fantasy battle music).

That was what i liked. Now the bad stuff 1. Way too many random battles for my liking. i usually like to go more than 5 steps before another fight.
Also as many other people have mentioned you have no way of healin out-side of battle.

This is the last thing i found annoying and i am surprised no one else mentioned it and that is the lack of an escape button. Don't get me wrong i love the fights but every now and then you get annoyed with the constant battles and just want run away from a few.

Other from those few problems i really liked the game god work.

Fickludd responds:

Still too many random battles? crap I just keep lowering the frequency ^^.

Healing - on way.

Escape button? - schmaybee

Not much to it

When you die because of an ordinary enemy, it says "game over." But when you die to the mechanical monster, it says "end of chapter 0." So I believe that you are supposed to die to the monster (no way to win that battle) and that's just as much of the game as has been written so far.

Besides that, stuff that's been said already--it should be clearer what is a path and what is an invisible barrier, and there are too many battles. You can get past them but it takes several tries and nobody wants to die while wandering around trying to find something at the start of a game.

Fickludd responds:

Ain't you a clever one :D.

Battles, barriers - check!
