Reviews for "AgentWing Defenders Final"

coool

on a par with dracojan skies... the only thing lacking is graphics... the difficulty is perfect and the refill life feature is great, it adds a whole new element of gameplay to an already above average sidescrolling flyer :D

LOL... the Congratulations part was retarded.

It could've been better, Hopefully you make more AW Defenders, make a whole series but this time a character selection where you can do the people's super along with harder levels that involve 1 Co-op. That would be awesome. Also improve on the GFX.

Nice Job, almost good. 3/5

Really good, but not perfect

The levels were detailed and nonrepetitive, the graphics were varied and interesting, and the music was well suited for the game. But there are some gameplay design problems that, if addressed, could make the game a lot better:

- it's too easy to press the shoot key one too many times, and skip past someone saying something. Because of this I didn't know the green balls were health, and I avoided them :(.
- having the shield not only absorb damage, but give you health back was a great idea! But trying to juggle a shield key with my middle finger and a fire key with my index finger...it must've crossed the wires in my brain, because I found it really hard to manage both. So maybe use a different key for shield, like space (then you'd use your thumb). Or maybe give the user more input: make a little warning beep every time a projectile is within range to be blocked.
- don't make the user start at level 1 every game. This isn't a coin-operated arcade game, so save the user's progress :)

Quite a bit of fun.

Maybe not the hardest or flashiest piece on Newgrounds, but it controlled super well, had tons of style, a laughably fun old school storyline, and overall the best shooter I've played on Newgrounds along with that Raiden game I forget the name of...

Everything fits!

This game doesn't have the best graphics, it doesn't have the best sounds, but what it does have it style. Everything in this game fits the feel and flow of the game perfectly. I'm sure the artist could've made the final boss a fancy graphic that wasn't just an enlarged pixelized mess, but that wouldn't have fit with the early 90s late 80s side scrolling shooter feel. There's nothing new or exciting here, it's a side scrolling shooter for goodness sakes! But that's okay, because this is a classic game style done perfectly. It's like the retelling of a story: if you do it right, no one will care that they've heard the story a million times, they'll still be on the edge of their seats and want to hear it over and over again.

Excellent job, sir.
