Like others have said I was very dubious at first. I've actually never liked these kind of games (I know, I know: why did I click on it then?) and it was a slow start with depressing music.
Then the destructive and addictive powerups kicked in, and the music picked up!
I initially wasn't keen on the mouse controls, since it seemed whenever I moved my mouse to hit the ball harder the cursor would go out of the small area where I could move and the paddle would freeze (sorry if that explanation doesn't make sense - this was actually a MAJOR gripe with the game until I got used to the controls.)
Anyway, after a while I got stuck right into it. I liked all the music apart from the slow tune at the beginning (I recognised one or two other tunes from other flash games - I'm spending way too much time on this site it seems) and the game itself had an addictive quality without being frustrating.
One point I should make, not even sure if this is a criticism or what:
I am to computer games what Boris Johnson is to football. There is no way I should have completed the whole game - beginner to advanced - with only one fuck-up (for some reason I lost all my lives on the first advanced level, then completed it easily on the second attempt) This is especially suprising since I have drunk two bottles of wine by this point.
I'm not actually saaying make the game more difficult, since the accesibility of the game was a major selling point for me - I usually find the ridiculously high pace of these games a turn-off.
If you're planning a sequel, just leave the game as it is, but add far more levels!
On the whole, an addictive and enjoyable take on a tried-and-tested genre. Two thumbs up and a definite 5.

A game for the ages!, dont listen to those other 2, that was a terrific game i have to say. I thought i liked those paddle games before, but now, well lets just say for now, MAKE A NEW 1!!!
lol, seriously though great game, i thought the music was perfect for this game and then changed it to something a little more extreme when the EXTREME weapons came in lol,(great timing), i forgot you can pick the stage sets, so after nearly completing the first stage i thought i was done, :(, but then after completing it, i realised theres more =D, and it was lucky too because i was gonna give one mistake comment about it wich was there was too many hearts, (lives) but im sure theres less hearts on the other stages to make it more challenging, so congrats, its the best so far to me!=D, so il get round to playing the next stages tomorrow, thanks for that then....
