Reviews for "Cosmic Crush"

Difficult, but addictive

Well, I've never been able to get stuck in a game so early and still be addicted to it - those suns are a nightmare, when they keep pulling me in at the start of a level.

You've got some good graphics here, with a well thought out concept - sort of an inverse of the game asteroids, as was played by people like me back in the 1980s. Is that where you came up with the concept from?

You've done another great game here, when can we expect another one?

A pretty good game.

I liked the game at first, simplistic gamplay, easy objective, original idea, it had it all.
I loved how the physics engine was pretty realistic, forcing the player to actually think about possibilities. Being a small planet caught in a larger planets gravitational pull at first was difficult, but then I figured out that you can slingshot yourself around the planet, and out of the gravity of the larger planet.
Unfortunately, sometimes when you were moving your planet from place to place, you would be caught in the gravity of a planet you had no idea of, then you'd sail directly into it. Also, in survivor mode, launching hudge planets right at the beginning was a little odd, and made it much harder to create a large planet...

finding stuff

Concept is solid, but you need to work on your object creation code so that the amount of stuff out there thats bigger than you, and the amount thats smaller than you have some sort of balance, as it is finding enouph stuff to start is nigh impossible. I would also sugest a radar, or more interestingly, have all objects pulse, the more gravity the farther the pulse can reach, sort of like being able to see the effects of gravity of other objects without having to stop and see which way you are pulled. One more suggestions, give asteriods velocity vectors, as one of the things that make the game more luck than skill is the frequency that things you can concsume are spawned withing things that not only cant you consume, but have such mass (or are grouped with other things with mass) such that even having them on your screen is near certain doom.

Great

Very original, I like the simplistic gameplay, it's really entertaining.

Great game, very addictive, but...

In the survival mode it's impossible to grow due to the fact that the only things that appear are the huge planets that end your game faster than anything. I know half the fun of the game is looking for the smaller planets but the fun ends when the only asteroids are located around (or in) the huge planets, defeating the purpose of the survival mode, so a radar screen (mentioned to you before by others) or something would be useful. Also add more levels in the Level Mode, three is just too few.
