Reviews for "-RG- In a Teardrop"

This is fabulous!

I could listen to this song over and over for who knows how long, and never get bored of it! You guys really did a great job constructing this song!

Raven-Guard responds:

Thanks! We try to vary our songs as much as possible, so we're glad you don't find it boring.

Thanks again for the review :D.

Great song.

Who cares if it sounds a bit like Requiem for a Dream? Hell, that song was great. But this takes it to a whole new dimension. I'm liking the epic feel with those crisp string and horn notes, and the drums fit in perfectly.

5/5, 10/10, fav'd.

Raven-Guard responds:

Thanks man. Yeah I really don't agree with Enteroar :(.

The brass in this song was supposed to give the dark feel, driven on by an epic feel from the strings, so I'm glad you like them :3.

Thanks again for the great and supportive review!

Very good.

While I was listening to this I read through the author comments and if you say you didn't copy this then I believe you didn't, but an unintentional copy is still a copy like it or not. :P Nah, just kidding. I for one know it's impossible to make something not sound like something that has already been made in some for or fashion because it's all been done before. (At least most of it has been anyway)

It has that great opening scene of a big war movie or adventure movie type feeling. One with a lot of action and blood boiling scenes where people are getting attacked. The "epic" sound would have summed that up much better I suppose.

The name... I don't know if "In a Teardrop" is very fitting for something like this, but oh well that really doesn't matter. You've come to know my darker side and listening to anything like this makes me automatically think about a war scene or something similar.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the song. It's something that I would love to see in a flash if at all possible, but it's not something that I would like to animate to because I wouldn't do it enough justice. Keep up the good work guys.

Very true. Probably why every Trance song sounds like the next nowadays. Oh well, not really any way to avoid this problem.

Cool. Thanks for the compliment, we definitely tried to make it sound epic and powerful.

"The name... I don't know if "In a Teardrop" is very fitting for something like this, but oh well that really doesn't matter."

In a Teardrop is supposed to signify so many emotions: anger, sadness, hatred, ambition, etc... all coming from a single teardrop.

Hey at least it's not something generic like 'Epic Battle' :D.

"You've come to know my darker side and listening to anything like this makes me automatically think about a war scene or something similar."

Always war with you xD.

Awesome, thanks for the compliments. Yeah, we'd love our stuff to be used in Flash animations, but the Audio Portal's retarded system eats up all our potential exposure.

Thanks for the review, good luck on your own stuff.

Well...

There is a striking similarity between this and Lux Aeterna. I noticed it before I read the comments and had to relisten to Lux Aeterna to confirm this.

Some of the melodies are really similar, or at least the way they are delivered, particularly the intro and some parts after 2:00. Not that this is news to you or anything, but I really felt the need to point it out.

An epic track nonetheless. Good job?

Yeah, it's true. Darklight made the melodies, direct all Lux Aeterna complaints to him :D.

I think after all the reviews saying it sounds a lot like Lux Aeterna, maybe we might change the melody up a bit. I don't know, I'll ask Darklight.

Woo, thanks :D.

Oh, I love that song!

I was certain I was listening to Mansell, but seeing that you didn't copy it, then I just have to say that I'm in awe. In our day and age, everything sounds like something, and the kind of music you went for here would eventually end up sounding like something. The fact that it sounds like Lux Aeterna (Requiem) is not a bad thing at all.

I didn't know what to expect when I saw it requested. The title sounds more like something Britney could make, and I didn't expect this at all. It might be because I've head this song (and so may remixes) set to epic battle scenes, with slow motion camera and bare-fisted fighting.

It doesn't sound like an orchestra, mainly because it sounds a little thin, like there are few people playing it. If you could simply add more to it, more bass or in general, more sound, that would make it even more epic.

Great track.

Heh, at least :P. I asked Darklight17 why he made it sound so much like Lux Aeterna, but he just said he heard it so many times in YouTube videos that he found it impossible to make his melody not sound at least slightly like Lux Aeterna's.

Yeah, you're not the first to say it reminds you of an epic battle. Not exactly what we were going for, but I suppose it works xP. The name might not fit well with the song at first, but I think that after hearing the song in full listen, I find that the name fits more, since as I said to Fro, this song represents all the emotions (sadness, anger, revenge, hatred, etc...) all brewed into one teardrop. Weird concept, I know...

According to Erik, this has 15-note chords in it :P. But yes, we didn't incorporate as much of the orchestra as we could have, and didn't cover the bass part of the spectrum as much either. Thanks for the suggestion, and obviously thanks for the great review!
