Reviews for "Mario's Blocks"

...omg

really, that movie was LAME!!! just to much of the good stuff you know. you could have done way way better, i know it! but still keep up the good work...

Not quite what I expected

Well ... I've just been made aware of the newly enforced review etiquette so I'll keep it simple. The flash had the potential to be funny, the first block scenerio made me laugh in fact. However; after a few of these following overly long and not very amusing scenerios I lost interest. My "constructive crticism" ... keep it up, next time focus on a variety of short but sweet scenerios rather than a few long boring scenerios.

UberAoC responds:

The FIRST block scenario made you laugh? A lot of people wanted to BLAM this thing instantly after seeing that. And I don't know if the scenes are "overly" long. I mean, a majority of them run less than a minute. The FulpBot scene runs the longest, at two minutes, but is chock full of animation and is very fast paced. I'm guessing the Ion Cannon scene drove you away? Not too much happens there, I must admit, but the rest of the flash is rather fast. It was 7 Scenes long, by the way. Most people actually like the second to last long scenario anyways... Ah well, can't please everyone, can ya?

more work needed

To make it simple, it needs A LOT of work!

UberAoC responds:

Hmmm... It's hard to determine exactly WHAT needs to be improved with this animation from your extremely vague review. This kind of a review could be copy and pasted to any number of works, and it really doesn't mean that much to me without some sort of specific. Next time, make a list or at least tell me whats wrong. Thanks.

Not original at all.

The best way to make a good flash parady is not the same beginning with different endings. That is realy repetitive. Check out rise of the mushroom kingdom. that is one of the most original and fresh mario paradies and it comes in the form of a three part trilogy. You could learn alot from them.

UberAoC responds:

The same beginning was used for each scene to portray the workings and hazards of what one specific block could do, not a multitude of blocks. If a multitude of blocks were causing Mario such grief, the impact of what this one block caused would have been lost. Sorry that it may have seemed repetitive to you...

I have seen the entire Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom series by Randy Solem. Beautiful work, especially for using all sprites. Randy Solem is a very gifted sprite artist, which is why his series has his own style to it.

While it was very original and very well done, if I would have gone ahead and started copying ideas from Randy Solem, such as style, presentation, and humor, then I'd truly have an unoriginal flash cartoon.

Plus, I hate dragging something on for too long. Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom was a more serious flash that REQUIRED several installments. Something like my cartoon needs to come suddenly and end without dragging on. That would kill my idea.

As for the cartoon being unoriginal, that is just a matter of opinion. I still haven't been given any sort of factual evidence that my flash copies elements from other flash animations, so it remains opinion.

Thanks for watching and reviewing. I really wish that you could have enjoyed it more.

Depressing...

Mario his a block. He dies. Bowser says 'ha ha'. This isn't funny. Stop making this garbage. Try getting a better idea then: hey how many retarded ways can I kill Mario?

This was so boring I didn't even watch it all...

UberAoC responds:

Wow.

So Mario "his" a block, huh? Well, I don't know what "his"ing is, but I'm very sure that's not possible. OH, you must have meant HITS a block! There's a "T" in hits, you know? Sorry I couldn't understand your terrible spelling.

Humor is a personal preference as well as your referring to my great cartoon as garbage. Hmm... Nothing worth noting so far...

How can you even accurately rate something without viewing it all the way? That's like trying to rate a movie by watching the opening titles.

Well, this review was, in it's own way, perfectly worthless. Thanks for nothing.
