i don't know what an MC is and i don't understand actionscript really well... can i have help please?

An MC is a MovieClip, and if you are interested in learning actionscript I suggest you pick up a copy of "Foundation Actionscript for Flash MX 2004" it is a version old but still deals with actionscript 1.0 and 2.0, it is very easy to understand and not very costly! It was written by Sham Bhangal and he has an easy to understand and enjoyable writing style! Good learning!

Good Tutorial
This is one of the most helpful tutorials I've ever laid eyes on.
Only one question though...
When this is done, will the movie (not the preloader one) start instantly, or is there a way of adding a button to be the start movie button while keeping the preloader animation running?

To make a button to make it play before it loads:
Add a button into the first two frames seperate from the animation.
To keep the preloader animation running after loading, remove the script on the animation and simply keep it visible after load (add frames after it with it in it)

If you're preloader is not working check the following things:
- The right script is on the animation
- The scripts are on the right frames
- The "start" frame is labeled
If all these are working, PM me and tell me what is happening along with what you did.

It was good, but.....
this was good but and it helped alot but the background gave me a headache
so really the only thing that bothered me was the bg
