Reviews for "The Adventures of Steve 1"

funny as fuck

dude the animation in this fuckn thing was sucky but its ok cause it felt like i was actually watching some T.V. and it was fuckn hilarious when he turns around with a like 3 ft stif ahhhhh .... love that shit man /make more.

It's great.

Keep on doing more of it. I thought it was great. A few cliches here and there but it was funny. Voice was a bit bad at first, but that got better throughout. Really nice.

It was alright.

It was alright. The whole story was good and slightly humourous, but it could have been done better. The graphis were ok, some things need to be tightened up. but overall it was ok.

Great Stuff.

That was excellent - great humour, a good plot with some measure of randomness thrown in, and nice timing on the gags. There are a couple of things that you may want to address in future episodes, but they were purely cosmetic as far as I'm concerned.

1. As has already been mentioned, the proportions of some charcters seemed to shift a bit from one scene to the next - most notably the size of Steve's head when he starts bustin' zombies up; it shrinks. Probably a result of drawing him in Ryu's style, since he also has a disproportionately small head. It's nothing you need to really worry about though, since the humour of the situation certainly wasn't lost because of it. XD

2. The length. In my opinion, anything this good needs to last longer. That's an entirely selfish comment though, and I'm sure I wouldn't have made it if I had any idea how much work goes into one cartoon. I'm just glad it wasn't over in thirty seconds. ;)

3. The sound. The voices were perfectly clear and understandable, but there could be more to differentiate one character's voice from another. I noticed you did actually give each character their own voice, but they still came out kinda similar. Unless you can get some other people in to help you on voices, maybe you could track down some software to change your voice, then save each setting with that character's name. Given the right program, you could easily eliminate the (small and purely cosmetic) issue of similar-sounding voices.

Incidentally, Bonus Stage was my favourite flash toon until it ended - in my opinion, you couldn't have chosen a better influence for your work.

Overall, this is something that I hope will not only become a series, but one that continues for a long time. Very well done. :D

Neo-Egyptian responds:

Thanks a lot, this is exactly the kind of review I was hoping for when I submitted the animation - you've pretty much assured me the general humour/style of the cartoon is solid, but have given me some valuable pointers for the next episode. I'm currently working on the second one, and I'm gonna try and incorporate some of the advice I've got so far - the jaw will move with the speech, the faces will be more detailed (shadows and such), proportions will be kept better, I'll do a bit more work on the voices etc.

Keep in mind, however, I do sort of intend this to be a series (like Bonus Stage) and as such I'm aiming to make a new episode every 2-4 weeks, so I won't be aiming to make every episode absolutely perfect in terms of animation. It'll be more of a process that will develop throughout the series, but don't worry, I'll do as much as I can for each episode.

Thanks again!

Good good

This was reellygood, I hope there will come more like this.
