Reviews for "Ostrich Jump 2"

Ya know

This is exactly like that one level in The Lion King....

The problem with it vs similiar games

You can just hold duck down and just jump over red and through the yellows. Should make it so if you are ducked you cant jump far enough to clear the reds. So it would be Duck to pass blue, jump to pass red and duck jump to pass yellow instead of holding duck and automatically passing blue and just having to jump for red and yellow.

The music was pretty good, the jump sound was rather annoying though.

The-Mercenary responds:

well, the game is meant to be played like that. when you duck/jump it does lower the overall hight of your jump, and if you try at first you wont be able to jump over the red objects, but since the game speeds ups, the duck jump lets you jump over the objects. Though, you're making it sound like it makes the game really easy, and if you've played the desert level, you wont go much further than 1200 or so unless you practice (or the game runs slow on your pc)

just...boring

boring, predictable, not much to it. THis is why it was only 1 level in the lion king

Nothing Special

This submission is yet another of the many mindless minigames seen on Newgrounds where you pit your button-pressing reflexes against some rapidly moving scenery in a test of longevity. In this particular incarnation, you are an ostrich. Really. An ostrich. And your options are limited to two: the up arrow to jump, and the down arrow to duck. You can also execute some sort of compromise, by ducking, then hitting the up arrow while in the ducked position, causing your ostrich to jump while keeping its head tucked down.

And that's that. Music plays, a background scrolls right to left, scenery begins to come at you. See a low object on the ground, then jump. See a high object, like a tree with a branch poking out at head-level, then duck. See a tree that looks almost exactly like the tree you just ducked, but with a branch in a slightly lower position, then jump. The longer you last, the faster things begin to come at you. And you get three lives. And that's the game. I got bored quickly. There are three levels to select, giving you some different scenery with different objects to clear. In each of the levels, the tree-with-branch objects and their level-appropriate substitutes all look alike, making it difficult to discern whether you need to jump or duck, but I guess that's supposed to be the element of challenge, since the more obvious objects don't pose a challenge until you've been playing awhile and everything's sped up considerably.

Overall, I found the game kind of blah.

This was below fair.

An incredibly poor entry. The game had shocking graphics, irrelevant and tedious music, and the style was beyond any form of interest. There was no humor, and no violence and, upove all, nothing to show for itself. A terrible game which I would recommend to people NOT to play.
