Reviews for "Cold Tap"

Just alright

Well that was not entirely bad or good it was just alright.

notorious responds:

deal!

Not bad...

Not bad but why the heck did you use 30 FPS?!? I mean even at 15 fps is still more then enough! Also how did you do the sky like that?? Anyways, even though I didn't understand it... that was nice! Keep it up man!

notorious responds:

thanks for the good review!! I used 30 fps to challenge myself to be able to make a longish movie with that many fps.

meh

I really did not cetch my interest in the beging and I got fed up with it and it was only a minute into the flash

sorry not my type of movie

notorious responds:

well, that's fine and stuff. Thanks for the review anyways!

Definately Potential

Graphic/Style - Your style is pretty cool. Definatley something that's your own and not just ripped from Adult Swim or whatever. But to be honest, that little blurry effect with the main character just made my eyes ache after the first ten seconds. What would've been better, is if that happened during key scenes. Not every single scene. Or atleast spice the effect up a little, so that you can sense the rhythm of it. Because that kind of effect is supposed to give a feeling of a loss of control or chaos, right? If you can tell what each shake is going to look like pixel-for-pixel, the effect becomes a wasted effort.

Sound - What can I say, there was only background music, and you didn't even time your animation to it. Granted, you chose a good song for the background and this is supposed to be one of those 'artsy' noir things, but there could've been a few sounds. If you knew what you were doing, you'd have a few quality sounds that would amp up the emotion in the toon because of the contrast with the rest of it having no sound.

Violence - Definately work on the blood. Straight jagged lines that don't even form to the contours of the face isn't cool. And what happened to the blood after?

My main problem with this movie is that the plot sucks. I'm tempted to call it non-existent, but that wouldn't be fair. There was something going on, it just couldn't be discerned very easily, aside from somebody being alienated (because he looks different) and then escaping the fortress of the smiley faces..and then its even more gray area after that. Definately needs work.

SCREW THE PLOT NOBODY NEEDS THE PLOT THANKS FOR THE GOOD REVIEW!

Loved it.

The graphics were great and the fluidness of the animation was great, considering how hard it would be to move the charcters around due to style of drawing.

The peice had a unique style to it as well as a good one.

There wasn't really any sound effects but the music really worked well with the atmosphere of the flash.

The limited amount of violence was done well, but the violence wasn't needed to be the bulk of the animation so it was used fairly well.

The interactivity was basically none existsent except the play and replay buttons, if they actually matter.

It didn't really need humour.

Overall the flash had a great atmosphere that the music and eneral idea contributed to greatly, as well as the gothic noir stuff.

yaay thanks for the really good review! I like it when people actually explain how they voted, sometimes people confuse me in that way.
