Reviews for "Batman : The Red Hood"

Absolutely stunning.

So beautifully depicted and executed, you need a job at Warner Bros. or DC Comics. Oh, and the mariachi music at the end was a very nice, albeit unexpected touch.

One word; Backstory!

This was excellent. As a fan of the old batman series (yes the *pow* *womp* *ka-blam* etc...) as well as the animated series I quite enjoyed this movie.

Now, you got a seven from me for two reasons:

1. My favorite batman villain is Mr. Freeze (no NOT the Arnold version) in the animated series. I was really able to empathize with his character. In your story, you wrote out the back story in text instead of showing us visually what the Joker's life had been like beforehand. I think it would have been a lot more potent if you did it that way.

2. The jokers laugh was kind of cheesy. Plus it went on for waaaaay too long at the end, which turned a semi-serious moment into something comical. Which I don't think it was meant to be. (Am I wrong?)

Good work, keep it up!

Good, but not perfect

3/5

There's a lot of good stuff here. The animation is very good for the most part and pretty close to the Batman animated series style. Although the characters look a bit too angular and their movements are choppy.

The music is appropriate for the most part and the sound effects are decent. The Batman voice is surprisingly good, but the Joker's needs work. Some echoes on his last laugh would be good - otherwise it just sounds like some kid laughing into his microphone.

I won't comment much on the story because I'm not well versed in Batman lore. Guy falls into acid, becomes the Joker - close enough for me. It's kind of short, but it's good for what there is. I would like to see more of these from you. Good work.

i do love batman but....

i dont know all that much about comic books, ar the history of the villains and all of that, so maybe i just shouldnt say anything, but i have to agree with Matt-G's response in a lot of ways like the animations was very tame, and run of the mill. put your own twist on the story. its your animation, so make it how you want it, not using somebody elses drawings. it makes it feel less authentic and original. i also did not notice anything about the written introduction in the skit. just a guy getting shot at, jumping into a vat of chemicals and turning into the joker.

Nice..

Not shure what to say...it was good....not amazing but good....nicely done batman though....
