Not to be taken at face value
First I enjoyed that this movie started out optomistic. He's ready, determined. Then he boards the bus and meets the hordes of unfamiliar faces that just blend and seem uniformly set as if he is being alienated completely. Then the tone slows and he is subjected to the feeling of being talked about and watched then degraded. Finally at the end of a long day it only gets worse nearing rock bottom.I love the open ending. Now the music.Reel Big Fish Cover is a good choice considering it's lead-in abilities and high-school tone.Wake Me Up When September Ends is truly allmost a giving up song which really drives home the feeling of defeat portrayed.Lastly the animation,The animation was consistent and fitting(as was the timing)Overall a sad tale that remains potent without annoying amounts of angst.
