Reviews for "Killer Bush 3D"

Nice Work!

Very nice animation indeed, it shows that a lot of time was put into this (ok Bush would have probably hurt/killed himself on the sword if he were to really try that, but hell it makes a good animation :) )

Give us MORE!!!

Loved it

First of all, Great work on the animation, i like the inclusion of the audio from your Secret Meeting.

As for you SanderVB, Maya is actually an industry standard even in the world of video games now. AutoDesk saw real potential and ended up buying them out. Autodesk owns Discreet which makes 3D Studio max.

Plus 3D Studio max is for wusses. Maya is where its at. (ive been suing it since Maya 5 :D)

Nice

Sweet presentation

Nice camera angles

I gave a 0 in graphics cuase you didnt do this in flash (I assume you didnt anyway)

When Bush and Osama were running: seemed a little messed up, might want to take a look at that

4/5

Yeah I should mention this was done in Maya

Well made,

but you need to work on your story and plot, not just the modelling. The models were high quality, but you should work on the voice quality and regularity, the movement of your characters (I know, human movement is the hardest thing to get right), and find a better way to compress it - 13Mb for a short movie isn't gonna work for public Flash. Nevertheless, a commendable effort and overall excellent production.

pyropymp responds:

This was a demo reel for job hunting, not a short film, so story and plot are obviously lacking :P I'd like to complete this in full as I have many ideas where the story can go, but that'll take another 6 months I'm afraid :(

Nice job...

You did a really good job - I think you're off to a good start but I'd reconsider using this piece to get work... This isn't bad at all but it's also not extraordinary. (There's also the PC crap to consider - which is VERY real in the corporate world where nobody wants to upset anyone for fear of losing business) I'm assuming that you modelled, rigged textured and animated everything yourself. That's great - it shows that you have a well rounded set of skills - This may be good enough to land a small job or two - and If you're planning on a series of smaller clients who will want you to handle all production yourself, then you should be alright - but larger clients with bigger jobs usually employ a team of people in which case you should hone one particular skill or another until you are the very best at it out of everyone else. I know people who can model like you wouldn't believe but leave the texturing and rigging for others - and I also know people who may not be able to model very well but can rig up a character breathing an amazing amount of life into a scene -

Either way - it's great work so far - Sorry if I'm coming off sounding negative - I'm not meaning to - I really hope you make it! Don't get discouraged - any media work is a super tough and very competitive business (trust me I know) and you'll hear a thousand "No"'s but eventually you'll get your foot in the door and it'll all be worth it!

Hoping to see more from you!

pyropymp responds:

You are absolutely right, and this is what my profs would've said too. I modelled, textured, rigged, lit everything myself because I hated the generic assignment characters/scenes they gave me... that's why :P I will eventually focus just solely on animation.
