Perpetual Darkness + David Firth
Reminds me of the film "Seven," dark and foreboding like a lot of his other stuff but without the colour of salad fingers. The sounds and quick bursts of static and weird images really stir things up. Like the guy below said, not so much of a storyline just lots of sequences where the characters depression leaps out and force feeds itself to you at a fair old pace. Quaint.
Wonderfully artistic
After reading some of the other reviews, I have decided to post my own. It really seems that many do not understand what this cartoon is about; though I won't pretend to know exactly what Mr. Firth is trying to portray. It wasn't meant to be scary or funny, something that is evident to anyone with a bit of common sense. It is more like a morality play. A story about one man struggling with the inner turmoil storming inside of him as he tries to escape instead of confront his fears and problems.
It is certainly sad to watch the main character spiral down in this short amount of time; which is a good testament to the emotion put into this work. I believe that I actually like this better than most of his other work since the style is very unique and 'edgy' which gives it a wonderful feel and helps convey the emotional content within. All in all, very top notch and hope to see more of these style flashes.
