that was horrible
that was the worst ever, it took me like a mintue to get it to play, there are not buttons or anything at the begining, and it doesnt auot-play, u have to right click and hit play, plus when i did that it went through the entire tutorial in about asecond and i had to hit play again for it to start @ the first slide only there were fish all over the place, you should learn how to make a flash functional before ever actually making a tutorial, other than tha i liked it though
Try clicking the 'Play' button. You know, the bit of text that says "Play?" and lights up when you put your cursor over it? From there you can navigate through it by clicking on the arrows. Why are you suggesting that I can't make Flash functional? Is it just because you don't notice the buttons? Sigh. In future, try pressing tab to highlight any buttons on the stage.

Taking someone's game and explaining how it was made (half-assed, too) really doesn't qualify as a submission. That's why it doesn't have a good score. And these tutorials (copy and paste script to be gud at flash) aren't really helping anybody.
At least it'l help my friend. And yes, it was half-assed. That's because I was in a hurry. Maybe not in a hurry to get it onto NG, but in a hurry to make it for my buddy.

Sigh. So here's one person who thinks I did it in too much detail instead of too little. is it too much to ask for you to actually try reading it? It's meant to show you what to do to make a game. How much simpler could I make it? If you don't have the patience to read through the tutorial, then you're hardly likely to be able to make the game, are you?

Ever tried increasing the acceleration variable? I kinda said to do that if you wanted to make him go faster. There's also maxSpeed if you want to increase the highest amount of speed he can reach.

What do you mean rip it off? It's just a tutorial on how you'd go about imitating the engine. Tons of replicas of Fishy have been made. Are you trying to tell me that anyone who writes a tutorial is the scum of the earth?
