Reviews for "_-={Lords of Legend}=-_"

Nice

Very good song, sounds great!

Good Things:
-Female vocalist was very good. Damn! :)
-Good use of strings, melodies blended well together.
-Smooth transitions.
-Nice flute.

Bad Things:
-I feel like some more powerful drums could've been used. Easy to overlook though.
-Some dark male choir could've been used at the more sinister parts. Like near the end accompanying the brass.
-I'm a fan of modernized classical songs, and this piece would sound great with some guitar and drums, but that's just me.

Nice job man, to you and the female vocalist, she's amazingly talented. 5/5, peace.

MaestroRage responds:

I agree with all the cons, I don't know if I can get some guitar in there, but you've sparked my interest! Now I will definitely have to try it out...

thanks for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Wow

Awesome war song sounds like the armies are marching forward to seal the doom of there enemies.

Great!

Very good! You took my advice with getting LadyArsenic to do the vocals! If you didn't, good call anyway. She really adds a lot to it doesn't she?

Excellent composition, nice sound effects and the vocals were brilliant, congratulate her for me.

A minor issue, the drum sequence is a latin dance one of some sort, or at least spanish/latinish in origin. I don't really care where it's from, the start makes this song sound like a strange dance track for spanish/latin dance. It doesn't fit, especially with that pick of drums.
The beat wasn't deep either. Deep drums have echo and make the floor shake, these ones don't. You should probably work on the length that each drum beat rolls on for, make it longer and the drums deeper.
Normally, I wouldn't knock off a mark for that but because of the fact that the drums are a primary part of this piece in conveying the battles and epic scope, I had to as they failed to do so properly.

Strong ideas!

The ideas here are very strong, and it is clear the emotion you are trying to bring through. LadyArsenic sounds wonderful as always, great job!

The piece sounds very cluttered, though. You're relying too much on block chords for parts and aren't paying attention to how each individual note moves. Also- I'd brush up on inversions and the different strength each has. Throughout the vocals at the beginning everything was in an inversion, which made the orchestration sound pretty unstable. Bring in a Double Bass or Tuba to carry the root of the chords (your D minor chords are extremely important- the bass should try and play D during these moments to provide a firm foundation for the piece whenever possible), and eliminate one or two of the middle brass voices and your arrangement will sound much, much clearer!

Remember to try and spread out the notes across the register of the orchestra to keep the piece sounding full, and uncluttered. Keep up the good work!

hey isn't this song used in the epic war series?!

I think the epic war series on kongregate uses this song
