freaky...........but really cool

i liked this compilation of short eerie movies it was enjoyable but scary at the same time.

(7.0/10), (4.5/10), (9.5/10)= [7/10]

Because this is 3 movies in one, I will review all into each categories, simplified, and then a final score for each, and an average score overall.

GRAPHICS:

Each and every movie looks brilliant. So many techniques done through various means, so much in presentation, detail, movement, the list just goes on and on. Each film was VERY well animated. This is the kind of stuff normally only seen at film festivals. Jack's was animated very nicely, and SDF's was even better(and bruttaly accurrate, anatomically). But Shawn's animation is beyond professional. It's simply magnificent in every way.

Jack Skellington's: 7.5
SickDeathFiend's: 9.0
Shawn Hollern's: 10.

SOUND:

JK: 6.5
SDK: 4.5
SH: 9.0

There wasn't much sound variety in JK's, but what he did use, he used damn well. SDK's too would have been fine, but alas, he had to use Ohmadon's sub-par voice acting skills, which almost destroyed the atmosphere of the entire flash presentation altogether. However, the brilliant musical choice by Shawn saves the day. I especially love the sketchy, random guitar riffs and the steel sound when the wheelchair passes by. It screams professional.

STYLE:

JK: 8.0
SDK: 3.0
SH: 9.0

JK presents a very calming atmosphere, with a somewhat intriguing finish. SDK's started out horrific and senseless, and then became downright stupid as it went on, evolving into generic Hollywood shlock. However, once AGAIN, Shawn picks up the slack and gives a dose of style that's almost unmeasurable. This is stuff you'd be hard-pressed to find in movies. I'm afraid that once TinselTown hires this guy, they're gonna rape his creations to make cash. Regardless, I do foresee great success for him in the future, should he continue to take the strides he took with this... Although it does get a tad repetitive... :P

THE REST:

Violence is a theme that, though shared throughout specific parts, was mainly prominent in SDK's movie. So I do not feel the need to review it, considering that how much violence a movie has does not determine quality. Interactivity was alright too, but not enough to warrant it's own subject. And since this was not a humour-based film, obviously there is no score for humour. But once again, it doesn't need humour to be "good".

FINAL SCORES:

JK: (7.0/10)
SDK: (4.5/10)
SH: {9.5/10}

CONCLUSION:

This was a diamond in the rough. We knew a halloween flash was coming. We've seen collaborations in the past, and this presents both the pros and cons of collaborations. But in a deeper sense, it also portrays a series of twisted dillusions. Not necessarily scary, but very grotesque and strange. Unnerving. It may not have pulled off without a hitch, but I think overall, it's still something worth seeing. Good work guys. :)

SickDeathFiend responds:

"Although it does get a tad repetitive... :P"

The repetitive shots were there for a reason. Because it’s a twisted/symbolic backwards story of school bullies who drove two students to suicide. The repetitive shots are there to show the day after day of torture. But then again I probably went to far into symbolism rather than trying to make something scary.

These types of reviews are great. Where they viewer sits down and explains what they liked and what they didn’t. They’re a real helping hand when learning what works best and what doesn’t.

Thanks for the review
