Reviews for "Roboxer"

Way cool!

The game needs more difficulty and/or levels, but otherwise I'd say it's really well done. I'd also like to credit your imagination that went into this! This is probably how boxing will be in a couple of centuries.

Its awesome but...

Make it harder. I like challenge in games or at least different difficulty levels. Some different fighters and a story mode would be nice too!!! Add that, and youll have a great game!!

TehZee responds:

Hmm.. a story mode, that's something I never thought of...

I'll keep that in mind if I ever make a sequel.

pretty damn good

wasn't a great game to play, but the graphics and the movement of the robots was awesome... awesome graphics. if u could expand onto this, make more levels and upgrades and stuff that would be sweet

great stuff

hope u get a great mark for your college work!!

I'm impressed.

This is a whole lot of fun. It's a shame that you couldn't add anything else to it. Here's a few ideas you may consider should you ever try a Roboxer version 2.0.

Customization: I've been keeping a good eye on video games, online or not. I find customization to be an exccellent feature with a wolrdwide appeal. A player's robot, for example, should be able to interchange between diffrent parts so that you can have it however you like (Which is a lot of fun) While some games use customization for both looks and stats, I reccomend that you keep stat upgrades and appearence customization seprate, as to avoid the ever annoying
"stat bots" which appear under different names in various online and offline games. Both upgrades and appearence customization should came at a price of some form of in game currency, of course.

Stats: Continuing on with the status topic. Here's a few catergories to try.

Attack: The higher this is, the more damage you can do.

Defence: The more of this you have, the less damage you recieve from attacks.

Agility: The better this stat, the faster you can dodge and attack.

Shield: Shield protects your robot with a small regenerating health bar that absorbs damage that would otherwise damage your health bar. the more of this stat you have, the bigger your shield bar is.

Energy: Robots with a high energy stat have a bigger health bar. Health is good, right?

Special: This stat determines the power of your special attack (explained later). The more of this stat you have, the more powerful your robot's special attack is.

To make it more interesting, impose a limit as to how many stat points you can have in total, rather than a seperate limit for each stat. this means that rather than having all max stats, you can have a much of any stat you want, but must stay inside a stat point limit for the entire robot. It keeps players from having all the same stats at the end, which is more interesting than all max stats robots for everyone.

Special Attacks: Moving on to one more idea. A special attack is an attack that does more damage than a normal attack. You'll probably have a special meter that fills up with each attack, then empties when you use it. You should be able to select your special attack from a list of attacks, which could range from rocket powered fists to energy blasts. Cool idea, eh?

Well, that's it. I hope you read this and take my advice. If this makes the game any better, and I think it will, I hope that you look me up if you want any advice for other games like this down the road. See ya!

Thanks. =)

And those are some very good suggestions indeed. Something i'll definitely keep in mind if a sequel ever get's made.
