YAY

very kool and very good game by far! we need more of this on ng! keep up the very good work! as good as ne megaman game. i personlly hate megaman games cuz theyre basicallly the same but i grade on effort and stuff not on wut i like and dislike so keep up the good work!

Good attempt, but....

I admit to being a Mega Man fan, and I enjoy this, but some technical things kinda spoilt it for me.

The controls were somewhat sluggish. I did take your warning about the backgrounds in mind, but it's the actual controls that took getting used to. My major gripe is the wall climbing for X and Zero: it's nearly impossible to scale the walls quickly without falling, so you need to take it slowly, and that costs valuable time. I also noticed a glitch with charging: when you scale the walls and charge, then fire, your shot somehow ends up at the top of the screen! I also noticed Bass charge too.

But, I like this concept. The competitive aspect of the MM games are somewhat lacking, and its nice to see a time-trial pop-up! Good presentation, and some good BGM music complements the action. I love the touch with X sticking his arm cannon out when charging.

A little more work on the technical aspects and you've got a real gem on your hands!

Andrew-Traviss responds:

The controls are perfectly responsive if the game runs near full speed, which it should on most systems with minimum settings, I've done some pretty exhaustive testing.

The wall scale bug where shots appear at the top of the screen is in fact a Flash bug that's very difficult to get around.

I've noticed the Bass charge, and I'm still trying to find out where it's coming from.

Keep in mind that you have to hold down jump to get full height, and if you don't wall climbing will take forever. I have done my best to match how things work in Megaman X4 perfectly, and I think I've gotten pretty close.

i like it

pretty much everything about this game is good. keep up the good work

good

that was pretty cool. however it was kinda difficult. maybe i just suck.

good job

There have been a few megaman articles in the past, but that has to be one of the better ones out there, the timing seemed to be spot on too for the average amount of time it would take you to clear a level, which was good - it would be stupid to have a level which had way too much time to do, or a level which you never had enough time to actually do it
