You are right.....

....your programming does suck. I didn't do half of what you are supposed to do. I only got the money from the ice cream shop, and beat the game. I read your hints and I didn't use the pills or cat or even do the dance competition at all. I found the ice cream money but still would not let me enter the competition. I guess I HAVE to get the 10 bucks from the drain. Heres a hint:
If money > 10 then
acquire dance competition ticket
money = money - 10
end if
thats psudocode anyway. You must have used the 10 dollars in the drain as its own toggle (item).

Don't even need the full $1000

Pretty sad really, I had only the money from the **** $375 when I went to the mafia area. The game identified that I had money, not the amount, and thus I won. YAWN!

Where have I seen this before?

Whether it was intentional or not, I felt like your game had elements of others. For instance, the unlocked room at the start looks a lot like Sam & Max's office. Outside by the garbage cans, the drunk on the floor looks like the owner of the chicken restaurant in The Curse of Monkey Island. The main character himself is a mixture of George Stobbart (Broken Sword) and Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island). As I go through the game, I'll wonder if I'll come across more like this.

Anyway.. the puzzles are pretty good, but the background music is a little tiresome. Maybe next time, use different music in different scenes? Aside from that, a pretty okay submission.

Though it would have been extremely better had it been longer and more detailed, it was a really good game and I enjoyed playing it.
