Reviews for "PGC: No. 5"

Well done

Excellent job on the creature and the rock, good attention to detail. At first, I thought it was an under-water scene; the huge, bright moon and vague blue sky make it seem like the sun shining into the depths. Judging from what looks like a river in the background, I'm assuming that isn't the case.

I don't get a very good sense of it's size. I like to think of it as massive, but sheer rock isn't the best reference.

Xionscar responds:

Thank you! :]

Nice observation! I hadn't noticed that until just now...

As for his size... I know what you mean.. Someone had asked me that while I was livestreaming this, and I actually added a little figure to demonstrate the scale.

If anyone feels like browsing though and finding out where it is.. Have at it: http://www.livestream.com/durandus/video?clipId=pla_6b7f6aaa-b54f-4446-9429-a9862b48624e ( 4 hours of me painting in two clips, this is the second clip with the scale figure in it I think... )

Amazing!

I second what Taacoon said. The perspective is amazing, it makes my head whirl when scrolling up and down the picture. It's as if i'm there or are looking up and down in a video game, trippy stuff man :) Very nice detail on the cyborg too. I love this picture. Nice work man!

Xionscar responds:

Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear I've captured the realism so closely!
That's the effect I strive for... :]

AWESOME! i wish i knew how to properly use ps....

"All of his limbs are robotic prostheses that..." does that mean its a sort of cyborg and not a robot?

Xionscar responds:

Correct! :]

More specifically: A living organism in an exo-suit with artificial limbs.
None of his limbs are naturally occurring in his species..

As a fellow robot lover

I love this design! Especially your work with the legs, I always have trouble with those myself. Your style and smooth shading are so consistent, it makes me jealous.

Xionscar responds:

Thanks Ben!

I try pretty hard to keep things looking consistent.. So that means a lot! :]

Nice!

Very cool! I makes me feel odd. Parts if this "thing" over the canyon look almost human. I know I am Odd but...Honestly, my gut reaction is to kill it! Kill it Quickly! But I My mind also tells me to wait to see if it really is some kind of threat.

Xionscar responds:

LoL, if you ever get the chance to lay your eyes on this guy, chances are, you won't have time to pull the trigger! ( others will be ready to intercept )
