It's got good and bad points...so its decent.
it was pretty cool, though it takes a turn away from the previous FF movies.
i SERIOUSLY disagree that yuffie could do jack to shadow, or locke for that matter. also disagree with such an affiliation between locke and shadow :P also disagree with edge eating it like that, shuriken cutting a katana in half? eh. yeah right.
the whole blending NG and FF was...okay...helped to make more a story out of it, but was such a thing really neccessary? imo it changed the style from simple and kinda light hearted to more serious and complex. the little changes to the NG art was clever and the use of it all was well done. for better or worse? not sure, but imo it wasnt really needed. the NG stuff and a 3D character takes away from the style consistancy of the previous FF movies. but hey, you do whatcha want.
OTHERWISE, it was great, both technically and creatively. but i just have to disagree with the story and style change :P im too much a fan of all the FF's and NG too, i guess =p add to that shadow and edge being my fav's, hehe.
locke was very cool but still not a ninja.

This short does the equivalent of what a DJ does: it takes other people's work (in this case, art and sound from different sources) and puts it together in a different situation. No new artwork or sound is to be seen [if I'm wrong, I apologize]... sub par overall, just not worth sitting through. I kept asking 'when is it going to get good?'

Your explanation is very close to the mark about a DJ, but misplaced. First i think your standards for 'good content' on newgrounds is WAY to high. if i were to write my own music and create new characters (few of the BG's are edits the rest are OG's) a single movie would take over a month to make non-stop. if i wanted to put so much effort into it i may as well make a full retail video game. the point of these movies is nostalgia and story. get off your eliteist highchair and make a video game 'remix' of your own and you'll see this movies illusion of 'simplicity' vanish and all the minor complexities shine through. if its not your style of movie then simply dont vote, you obviously fail to understand what makes a good and a bad DJ.

you killed shadow. you turned locke into a ninja. you suck. why didnt you just make yuffie a sprite. and you barely got to see them fighting. dont draw those gay cartoons you suck.
