Cool game!

FANTASTIC

As soon as I figured it out, it became very clear how well made this game is. I really love how you spell out the feeling of hopelessness during the chess games.

The only issues that come to mind are the typos, which IMO, are excusable. The flow being pretty cryptic may have been viewed unfavorably by others, but I see it as adding to the overall story. Makes it immersive, since usually in these types of games, the player character automatically figure out what they should do, and then you pick up from there. Here, it presents you with the things, but does not tell you what to do with them. You're supposed to put it together yourself, which feels very satisfying once you do get it.

Hrmm, this is a rough one for me!

On one hand, I find the game rather fascinating in how opaque and unorthodox it is: I feel like an explorer who unearthed an alien device and I'm trying to figure out how it operates. It's like not only is there a game to play and win, but there's an extra puzzle game on top of figuring out the game itself, and I enjoy that sort of meta stuff. The game also adds to the sense of mystique with its cool, horror-themed presentation, hardcore no-second-chances rules, and weird usage of both chess and visual novel elements. I really wanted to get into it!

On the other hand, though, I was hopelessly lost in what the heck I was even doing, and my faith in the game was under attack by the constant, never-ending typos and just altogether badly-written and confusing script. Perhaps this was written in another language and you had google auto-translate it? But that wouldn't explain why there was a typo in practically every single sentence. I don't want to be a grammar nazi or anything, but when you've got a game that's all about words and it doesn't get that right, it makes me less inclined to give the rest of the game the benefit of the doubt, since it's a natural assumption that the rest is probably just as shoddy.

So yeah, I tried to get into this, but the script issues and lack of direction wore down my faith and made me feel like this game is just a buncha style-over-substance. Shame because it definitely looks like it has potential, but yeah, needs some proofreading!

I like the thought and all, but it sucks if you die once, then it's over. I tried to replay to enjoy the story, but all I do is die. after 17 losses YES I counted after a while! I feel like even if I did win, nothing will happen, because the game CLEARLY states that you only get one life. I have no possible way of enjoying the game, or any of it's mechanics wtf am I supposed to do, just except that I lost once to a game I never played before and move on? Can I still get the story if I keep trying and win, or is all my possible effort going to be meaningless? If you will make all effort pointless plz consider making a video-mode so people can still watch the options, and get them to think about your story. I gave it a 3.5 instead of a one, because everyone-else seems to love it so...maybe I just missed something?? maybe it's me.

Needs to be a bit more clear
