I wasn't expecting such a quality game being free, I am nowhere near the ending, but am already blown away by the amount of content this game has. 5/5
It's your first day at a new school. Every day is your first day at a new school. Every night the world ends.
Mars Underground is an apocalyptic adventure game where you relive the same day over and over. With each cycle new items can be picked up and topics unlocked.
Take experimental prescription drugs. Talk to a toilet. Get hit by a car. Humiliate yourself repeatedly. All in the name of figuring out what on earth is going on.
“Mars Underground is a strange and sometimes unnerving game. But in a way which endears itself to the player.”

“Accompanied by its killer, deadpan humour, a quirky cast and plenty of great moments, it’s a deftly told and highly involving tale. It comes extremely recommended for those who like the weird, the wild and the fascinating.”
4.5/5 – The AU Review
“This point-and-click adventure without the pointing and clicking features masterful puzzle design, beautiful presentation, and a cast of colourful characters. Mars Underground is simply a joy to play.”

This is an amazing game, although at a certain point I completely got lost and had to use a guide. It was obvious what I had to do after reading, but if you don't find certain things at certain times, you will get stuck. Unfortunately, I think I was locked out of the final ending? I decided to fire the quantizer early just to see what would happen (being in a time loop and all), but now if I attempt to reformat at the computer in the doctor's office, I get an error at the cycle I early fired at. So, I did an entire another playthrough (since this game is so fun), but I am still locked out. Maybe this is my punshment for not listening, but it sucks that I can't seem to experience everything now. Maybe have an true reset built into the game after completion? Other than that, great game, and I recommend to figure out the puzzles you can first without a guide.
Best videogame I've played in a hot minute
I only played a few minutes but the art-style and narrative are top notch
I feel dumb that I needed the guide to find the crystals. I found every other ending on my own, but somehow didn't find even a single crystal!
This is so much juicier than any other RPG Maker game I've played. It's amazing how interactive the world is and how people react like you're a real kid going to your first day of school in real life. If you walk in front of the TV, your sister complains. If you disappear, your mom leaves your sister at home to wait for you. You can get in trouble at school, you can get arrested, everything has consequences.
And after you everything, there's still more to see! It just keeps going and going. You really went all in.
