Probably for the best that single player is better because this was really just meant for kind of like DLC
I like the idea of a platformer meets Dead by Daylight kind of thing, where the protagonist is trying to survive, while the enemy player is attempting to catch you.
Some ideas to improve the game - have a goal point for the player to try and reach, rather than exclusively timed survival. Incentivizes the player to progress, rather than find a good spot to dodge Bowser.
Another idea is to either nerf Bowser's speed or redesign the map. There's a few places where Bowser can lock you down and there's nothing you can do.
