I liked it! A bit of a short game, but pretty addicting.
I'm reuploading my games from itch.io here...
I didn't get a whole lot of content done for this game, but what I have done I'm pretty proud of. This jam was 7 days long, and I may have wasted most of them working on the unnecessarily complicated combat system (I had to cut a bunch of planned attacks and enemies) but oh well I guess
Also this jam was pretty small so I managed to do really well - I got joint 3rd place and got in the highlights video (here: https://youtu.be/V2fGNmD0Nt4?t=370 ) so that's pretty cool :3
[The rest is copied from the itch.io description]
A dastardly corruption has overcome the woods, and twisted the flow of gravity! It is up to the forest witch to beat up the foul creatures that stand in their path with their trusty gravity-flipping broomstick, and reach the corruption's heart to put it to rest once and for all!
- WASD or arrow keys to move
- Space or Z to jump
- J or X to melee attack (you'll get different attacks depending on which way you slash)
- K or C to hover on your broom (you can ram into enemies with this)
- Hover + Up or Down to flip gravity
For this game jam, we had to use an idea from a game randomizer for our game, instead of a conventional theme. Here is what I got:
Genre: Hack & Slash
Theme: Gravity
Setting: Forest
Item: Broom
I liked it! A bit of a short game, but pretty addicting.
Thanks! I agree it's a bit shorter then I wanted it to be too...
i dont understand
Maybe try and leave some sort of constructive criticism instead of just leaving a bad rating with literally no explanation?
This was made for a game jam; they're online competitions where you make a game to fit a theme within a short amount of time (for this one I had 7 days). Because of me spending this time kinda badly, I didn't have time for a tutorial, so I guess it kinda makes sense why you wouldn't understand the game (I tried to explain it in the description, but maybe I didn't do a very good job of that either :') )
I'm honestly not bothered making post-jam updates to these games - I like to keep them as they are and move onto the next jam - this one was made a few years ago and I only joined Newgrounds recently so I'm only getting around to uploading it now.
It's not like there's much to do in this game anyway, you kinda just slash up a bunch of the singular enemy type I had time to add using a combat system that I spent way too much time on and is a bit too much for one enemy type, and that's about it...
