A short boss fight against the Twisted Law of the Skies, Mai Lacanlangit.

This fight is a reboot of sorts for the way I make a boss fight, it's less buggy now I hope.

Controls:

MENU CONTROLS

Arrow Keys - Change selection

Enter - Select

Backspace - Return to previous menu

GAMEPLAY CONTROLS

Arrow Keys - Movement

Shift - Focus (Slows movement and makes hitbox visible)

Z - Shoot/Progress dialogue

CTRL - Skip dialogue

X - Bomb

Space - Pause

Mechanics:

You have to deplete the boss's health for each attack by shooting them down or using a bomb that also clears bullets on screen.

The boss has a health bar for each attack that must be depleted before the time (thin bar under the health bar) depletes. Some attacks are special attacks called spellcards that can give a bonus if you deplete the boss's health without dying or using a bomb.

You get graze points by letting a bullet come dangerously close to hitting your hitbox.

Once you run out of lives, you get the option to use a continue, which restores your lives and bombs to the original amount set before starting the fight, but penalises you by cutting your score in half.

Story:

Evil spirits have been flooding Biringan, becoming a noticeable nuisance to everyone living in it. As always, Lia was called to solve the incident.

This time, the trail of breadcrumbs lead to the culprit being in heaven, but she has to overcome an obstacle first.
