nice!!! i'm glad you enjoyed it
An interesting concept. I tried to give it a couple of tries, but this feels like it could be improved by switching the difficulty around: make the timer count up instead of down, giving a 'best time' high score instead of a 'you lose' screen. This would give new players time to learn the mechanics and develop some strategy. Of course, you could still keep the ‘hardcore’ mode in which counts down.
It's really quite innovative, doing something different with the same Tetris shapes. Bonus points for creativity. Unfortunately, different means you need to hold the players hand a little more in the beginning.
I'm glad you liked it!!
Thanks for the feedback. I get how it might not feel intuitive in some ways. It was heavily inspired by the GBA game It's Mr. Pants which works similarly, so some of that is a holdover from that game. Also I forgot to say we made it in two weeks and it was approaching the limit of what we were able to implement in that time haha.
Ideally we'd like to do some of that stuff. Definitely some more onboarding for newer players and some of the stuff you mentioned, maybe some work on the easier modes too. That said I think we're both happy with what we were able to do in two weeks.
I liked it! And also a somewhat high difficulty (even so I liked it).
Personally I feel that the main menu could have a more solid aspect (I'm not saying it's bad) and maybe add some more precise instructions of what the objective is (I say this because it took me 2 games to understand how the theme of "making rectangles" was going).
But definitely a good game, addictive and entertaining!
Good job!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!! 😊
