Slay The Salamander

Assemble a party of three heroes in an adventure to locate and slay the fiery Salamander.

Every week, you accumulate AP (Action Points) that you can explore in town. When you are ready, you can choose to go into battle. After gaining enough XP, choose which skills to level up. When you reach a certain level, you can then promote your heroes to a 2nd level job class.

This is meant as a prototype for my future games. I've been trying out Unity's HTML5 game engine (had a lot of bad experiences with it in the past). Hopefully, this time I get it right.

Optionally, you can also download the offline version for Windows and Mac. Enjoy!

very cool game, but yea like the other guy said the animation seems a bit slow other than that it's very fun

helgravis responds:

Thanks, I'll work on it!

it's a pretty fun simple game, one minor detail is that enemies take too long to attack, and animations take too long to finish, specially during battle
still, it'd good and I like it ^^

helgravis responds:

Thanks for checking the game out! Yeah, I haven't quite figured out the perfect timing. Some people find it too slow (especially early game), some people find it too fast (when the abilities start doing multiple things at once, you end up seeing a lot of counters getting added quickly). I'm not sure how to deal with it at the moment.

I don't recall the old popular jrpgs having issues like this (except maybe FF8's overwhelmingly slow summon animations). I'm leaning towards thinking - if I had flashier animations, maybe it becomes less noticeable?
