I decided to change the art style to a simple color pallet and a flat shading style. When I first made the assets for this game I didn't realize how much space textures can take up and how that directly translates to the size of the game
early implementation of a new style
The .pck file was at 330 mb and now after getting rid of most of the ,aterials but one it is down to 40mb. I am still experimenting as I want to try a few things with the style but the simplicity of this means I can focus on making the game rather than fixing texture issues. The loading time for the project was horrible and now it is reasonable.

its not that great in its current state, but not super bad either
keep at it. it could be great with a lot of work down the line
and it does actually play, unlike several other games in judgement at the moment
