So hard and fun! 10/10 also how do you beat the temple of thorns?
Back and got the first ending 1/3 so 2 more to go!
1-Bit Explorer is an adventure game focused on exploration where you do NOT save the world and the world does NOT need saving.
It was made with RPG Maker MZ an it took about 6 months of development.
The point is to explore to your heart's content and uncover mysteries and secrets (or don't, it's up to you, really).
---
You are the son of Frank, regular citizen of Moneta Village, which is trying to complete his collection of Ancient Coins. Due to a disease, your father needs your help with this apparently mundane task of gathering 3 Ancient Coins. Each one requires you to explore a bit of the village and its habitants. What you might discover is that there are secrets, ghosts, other dimensions, demons and ancient Kings hiding in the corners. It is up to you to discover this mysteries.
---
The gameplay consists mostly of various puzzles, either being:
Conversational Puzzles:
Talk your way into making some people do as you want. Saying the right things might turn them into useful people for your quests.
Push & Pull Puzzles:
Rocks can be moved around the environment to either unblock a path or to press buttons and special locations, revealing secrets and opening new pathways.
Lever Puzzles:
Levers can be used to unblock paths, either by activating them in a certain order, activating them in a time limit or simply finding your way into them to uncover new shorcuts.
Timing Puzzles:
Some puzzles require you to do tasks in a certain time limit. Be careful with the timer, because it might be the difference between just failing or straight up dying!
Positional Puzzles:
Puzzles might require you to stand on different places in different orders. Be aware of sounds that can indicate a success or failure!
Environmental Sound Puzzles:
Some times you just need to follow your ears. Be aware of your surroundings and seek out the sounds!
Active Combat:
If you are willing to explore, you might fight your way into a battle or two. Make sure to learn the ropes with a helpful weaponsmith!
Explore, explore and explore:
The game is focused on exploration, so make sure to check every corner and talk to everyone! The world is there for you to experience and discover!

THE EXPLORER'S GUIDE BY PROTELO
One very dedicated fan and explorer compiled a very comprehensive (and entertaining!) guide for all explorers in trouble!
Check it out at https://www.tumblr.com/1bitexplorerhelp
Make sure to also show some love to the creator of the guide, Master Explorer Protelo!

Hello there! I am glad you enjoyed it! The Temple of Thorns is arguably the most difficult one in the game, because the rooms are basically timing puzzles. Keep at it and you shall prevail!
Best of luck!!
Wonderful game but can't get the second ending, the only quest I have left is the masked stranger one but I can get in the temple.
Hello there! This quest is tricky, because you need to get the weapon and defeat the bosses BEFORE you collect all the Valac Pebbles and enter the Valac Temple in Moneta Village Square. If you go in before you'll see the Valakys gathered and The Stranger quest will be lost.
Best of luck!!
i got to the soul crystal part and i know what to do but i dont know why it doesn't work. i got to the last phase before the crystal break's but i cant get it to break. what am i doing wrong?
Hello there! Do you have the Megaheart? To break the crystals you need to have it to be able to do the sacrifice. If you do, just hold the action button until the crystal breaks :)
Obscene amount of backtracking. (By the love of god, at least make it one-way from Moneta to the Enigma Island, instead of blocking the path)
Requiring sound for puzzles.
So much hassle for using hell's bell.
The pushing mechanic is weird. You need to face the block, press z, and then push. Three keystrokes.
The character walks so slowly compared to the size of the map.
I would have given zero star. The one star is given because there seems to be more pebbles than 25.
Hello there! Thank you for playing the game!
I am sorry you had a bad experience with it.
Thank you for your feedback.
I love this game! Really, it's one of my absolute favourite exploration games. The world is so cool, the lore is captivating and the story is interesting without getting overwhelming. Also, I can just walk around, no enemies, no time restraints. It sure made it score high for me! I can barely wait to play the sequel! (But not today, I'm tired XD)
Anyway, I like it so much I replayed the whole thing to make a handy guide book if any explorer needs it: https://www.tumblr.com/1bitexplorerhelp
Edit: Please do! It would be an honour! And it sure will help my little guide reach more people. Also, I'm so happy you liked the liberties I took with the names. Thank you so much for creating such amazing games <3
My dear Lord!! What a wonderful guide you made for all explorers out there! Thank you so much for playing and dedicating your time to do this!
This is seriously FANTASTIC, and I loved the flare you added to the writting (also, loving the name of some locations here). Can I add the link to the main description of the game here on Newgrounds and on Itch?
Again, thank you very much!
