In "Secratly" the player guides a rat through a library by painting paths. During a stormy thunderstorm in the middle of the night, the rat secretly tries to find new books for its general knowledge as well as a key to the next room in order to delve deeper into the library. After a flash of lightning, everything goes dark and the player draws their desired path from memory to show the rat the way.

This game was made at Games Master (HAW Hamburg) in the course Game Production over one semester. The goal was to develop a small game for web and mobile platforms.
nice theme. sometimes it is hard to reach stuff on the side because you can't set the path beyond the screen. at times the cat gave some noise but nothing else happened.
There is a problem, the rat "slides" across the the map if you stay idle, stucking in things. Also, why is the screen so narrow? Was it thought for cellphone screens? I couldn't reach a door because you get to move the rat too little sideways. I couldn't find a way to roll the screen laterally either (like keeping the right-click pressed and then moving laterally)
Everything is perfect to the Music and the Art Style it's a fun short addictive game and a unique gameplay element, the only bug I encountered was occasionally get stuck in walls / bookshelves.
Interesting concept but you get far too few turns before inevitable failure.
Mouse control (see what you did there?) by drawing a path and THEN confirming your choice is clunky to say the least. Game play isn't satisfying at all. I just ran into some furniture and seem to be stuck, regardless of the path drawn for the poor creature.
I really like the idea of using short term memory to remember a path and follow it. It reminds me a lot of a mario galaxy level, where there's a flash of light that illuminates the completely dark level level and then for a few seconds its dark before another flash. The difference to this being that you can still move while its dark. I think the waiting when the thunder happens breaks the game feel. Its also a bit sad that you can only see a very small part of the level when the thunder strikes, and there's not a lot of obstacles so you basically just go forward. I think it would be better to have a bigger part of the level illuminated and actually have a maze, and also being able to move all the time. So the player will go blind for a few seconds, then lightning strucks and you can see the level for a seconds and have to remember it. If you want to keep the pathdrawing, maybe lightning could struck while the mouse is moving, just before the end of the path? So that theres no waiting time and a better flow.
I think there was a bug that prevented the lightning from happening sometimes. Also I got the tutorial-screen when I started the game the second time.
I like the artstyle of the menu, but then the game itself is completely different, it doesn't really fit together.
