Good start! I like the character selection, the backgrounds are good and the music is catchy. Jump mechanics are excellent. I would love to play this more. Did the original Joyful Journey get completed? I enjoyed that game as well. Thank you for creating and developing interesting games. Cheers. ;)

Development on joyful journeys has been very complicated and I feel bad if you are a fan of the project (but also happy that there are fans of the project). The game became larger in scope so I switched engines and made this proto type. It is now INCREDIBLY outdated. The final game will likely be nothing like this prototype and be more inline with the original demo. I have not gotten a team at all so it’s still me making the game by myself. I took a break from newgrounds and animating in general. So much has happened to me from the point of starting joyful journeys, originally being a humorous exploration of the feelings I was currently having to a game about overcoming those feelings and looking forward to what comes next. If you are exited for the game, don’t be. It will probably take a while to finish the game and when I do I will announce it. I started a second game and I might release the unfinished game. Idk. Sorry for leaving this long message but I…. Idk. Well away I go!
Controls are good however no sprites present on the level and you are able to fall to your death forever without dying.
The game is clearly unfinished. It's impossible to progress further to the right and going to the left makes you fall out of the world. The terrain seems to be missing textures so it ends up looking very unappealing. Please playtest your game before publishing it!
