This is the first Beat Em Up to implement the innovative 4x4 stylistic combat system as the game's core mechanic. The 4x4 system uses 4 basic buttons and each button is capable to execute different combo attacks, jump attacks, dash attacks and grab attacks.
In this game, YOUR ENEMY HAS MORE INTEL ABOUT YOU and that's the main reason why they can just detect most of your attacks and moves. Randomly they can detect 2 buttons from your 4 active attack buttons at a time. So that means they can block, dodge or even counter your attack if you hit them by pressing the wrong button.

Try to play the game again using the 8-button x-input joystick controller and you will find how convenient it is to execute all mechanics. A new demo version will be available on 2nd quarter of this year with 3 levels. Thanks for playing anyway :)
