About:

TD2S is a top-down shooter with roguelike and bullet hell elements where you can build your own guns from modifiers that you get every level. Modifiers range from basic ones, increasing your fire rate or damage to more unusual ones, such as Fra, which causes your bullets to explode into fragments when they hit enemies or set the enemies on fire.

Controls:

  • WASD to move.
  • LMB to fire.
  • RMB to brake.
  • Scroll wheel to change guns.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 to select gun 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 respectively.
  • P to pause/unpause.

You can always rebind the keys in settings.

Inventory:

  • Hover your mouse over a modifier to reveal its stats and description.
  • Drag the modifiers into your guns to alter them.
  • Use weapon test mode to try out your new guns.
  • Craft new modifiers from your current one by upgrading or exchanging them.

Check out in-game instructions for more information.

Features:

  • 15 different enemies!
  • 23 different modifiers!
  • Infinite amount of levels (level 50 is supposed to be final one, you unlock cheats after completing it)!
  • Music by LLAAPPSSEE
  • Retro graphics!
  • Particle effects!
  • Customizable settings!
  • ...and much more!

First and foremost, this is a great game with a lot of potential!

If you are open to suggestions, I have a few, some of which building off of other people's ideas.

1) I definitely agree there should be some sort of boss, though not just on the 50th level, but maybe once every five to ten.
2) There should be more weapon modification given to the player, but have the weapon mods be more specific to targeting each type of enemy. Currently it is completely unreasonable for the first half of the game to build up any gun but the first run. If there were mods that only heavily damaged one type of thing, and had enough mods, you could incorporate a little bit of strategy going into each level by changing the loadout you have equipped.
3) In my opinion, most of the unique class weapon mods were actually worse than most of the ones of the lower class. My recommendation is either buffing them or reducing the power of lower classes.
4) Some sort of shielding would be nice. If you have ever played any of the Frantic shooters, I would recommend doing something like that system, because in bullet hells sometimes you just can't get past everything, so there should be a little bit of grace in taking damage.

Played, died and ... everything is lost. Yea, won't start another run.

i really enjoyed it
ive never been the biggest fane of roguelikes so if i managed to enjoy it im sure you got something good here
however one small nitpick is to many enemys spawn in leaving almost no room to dodge the bullets
maybe some future perma health/armor upgrades or maybe just removing the hitbox none-chaser enemies all together would help. but hey, im not the one with the vision

The enemies take up way too much real estate. The biggest issue this game has is the lack of space to move around. Too many enemies that are as large as they are cause a battlefield that early on can be hard to dodge through. Real potential with the gun mods, but they either need to have more downsides or fewer slots. Nothing really stops you from just shoving everything on one gun for a good while.

SkyFire2008 responds:

Fair.

Fun until I died and all progress was reset. I think it could be improved by buying permanent incremental upgrades when you die based on how far you got, which would allow more players to reach the more advanced enemies instead of getting dejected and walking away. I also assume it’s a ‘play till you die’ kind of game, so adding a late game boss at level 100 or something would tie a neat bow on this.

SkyFire2008 responds:

Sorry, I just kind of assumed that when people read that the game has roguelike elements, they would understand that it has permanent death as well. Also, in my opinion, it's way too simple to have upgrades that are preserved inbetween runs, only thing I can think of are unlockable modifiers, but it would be too boring for the players to start out only with the basic ones.

Although, a boss on level 50 would be a good idea.
