Version 1.1

THE SWORD MECHANIC

The game is intended to be played with a mouse.

The sword will aim towards the mouse/crosshair, you do not need to click:iu_787492_5394435.png

Spin the sword around yourself to build up momentum:

Once the sword has built up enough speed it will glow blue and begin to do damage:

CONTROLS

  • Mouse (no click) to swing sword
  • ESC to pause
  • F to fullscreen

Originally made for Ludum Dare 51, however we wanted to spend the rest of the month finishing it and then releasing here for the Spooktacular.

You can play the original LD51 version here!

hard game gosh damint but fun yay

potentially REALLY good, sword mechanic is clunky though and too frustrating to make the game as enjoyable as it could be.

I like the game. I would ditch the mouse/sword mechanic though. Its awkward and IMHO detracts from the games strengths.

the first boss keeps pushing me out of the map and I cant get back in, and have to restart.

banger music and art, but combat feels bad -- sometimes the momentum gets completely killed suddenly, and hitting an enemy feels unimpactful (sword just kinda bounces off them, and you have no idea how close the enemy is to dying. what if it lost some speed but sliced through them instead?)

maybe have a key that automatically spins the sword for you? having to use the mouse feels unnecessary since switching targets is basically only done through strafing because you'd want to keep your momentum, so changing directions is counterproductive. making the sword throwable might be a good way to involve the mouse
