I REALLY like the concept that can be expanded here. The competition between players doesn't feel intense enough, there should be more factors pushing each player to catch the other, like a tile that a player steps off from is removed from the map and becomes a death tile, and maybe just some time limits for random ones to also become death tiles. Additionally you could add visuals for the paths the player can take, i.e. they roll a dice with 2 and then around them shows a transparent line showing all the paths they could take. The game could also benefit from more visual eyepleasers, like tweens to move a player to their intended spot instead of a straight cut, and an animated dice with sfx. With some tweaks and visuals, this could be a great party game with 2-4 players, I hope to see more of this expanded!
